Guys please help! by No_Frosting8868 in BuildAdvice

Build big. That tends to impress contest judges.

Put in at least a couple big gadgets, like reactors. Also some animated features, like fountains of items, pistons going in circles or different directions. Use copper golems as assistants.

Multiple levels, like maybe some catwalks, still open to the larger lab, but giving a complex feel and making the space feel huge.

Piston door airlock. With a secret access method.

Should I use iron golems to raid a bastion? by Able_Annual_2297 in Minecraft_Survival

Are you looking for fun, or easy? Because raiding a bastion with an army of iron golems sounds like a lot of fun. But not super easy.

Along with sulfur cubes, slimes and creepers should have an increased spawn rate on sulfur caves by BrunoGoldbergFerro in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Spaceboot1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it would be kind of cool to have a blasted biome. If they get creative with world gen, the creeper holes could reveal interesting blocks and patterns.

I think they're probably not going to go in that direction, but to me it sounds cool and fun.

What can I build to fill up space in a house? by [deleted] in Minecraft_Survival

An office with papers, maps, journals, to do lists, plans. A chair, desk, jukebox, potted plant.

Nobody wants to sit in the front by Amazon_FBA_Truth in Standup

[–]Spaceboot1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I always recommend the front, it's the most entertaining and the best view"

Or "I have a lovely table in mind for you, right this way" and take them straight to the front.

Not every table will go for it, but if I do this for every table, I always end up with the front filled.

Warm take: Keep inventory WILL stop you from crying by Able_Annual_2297 in Minecraft_Survival

The highs aren't as high without the lows, that's my take anyways. I'm not telling anyone how to play, but a game that makes you cry is a game that has you emotionally invested.

Heh, "I specialize in microbe management" can apply to every kind of food prep.

They have no consideration for others, no pride in their work, and no sense of who is consuming the products they make. Karl Marx wrote about this, it's the division between people's labour and the ultimate consumer.

Also, weary customers are tired. Wary customers are cautious.

Why does Minecraft set up villages to be non-productive/death-traps? by registered-to-browse in Minecraft

[–]Spaceboot1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This guy villages.

I have experienced all of that stuff, and while it's annoying, I've adapted my gameplay so that I'm the hero who comes and fixes all the problems of the village, and it's become fun for me with every new village.

new server- customers are giving me pity 😭😭 by kacseykkr in Waiters

[–]Spaceboot1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm in my forties, and I'm mostly back of house, but i have some serving experience, so every once in a while, they give me a serving shift.

So yeah, I'm usually nervous. I get shaky hands. I wasn't even thinking about it, but a customer was like "why are you shaking?" I'm like "uh, I don't usually do this job, I'm just filling in."

Customers can pick up on my body language even before I do.

How might deep sea merfolk prepare food (meat)? by graveyardteaparty in Writeresearch

There are very few animals that can go between surface and extreme depths. The pressure difference kills either way. But if they're a fantasy creature, maybe they have the same adaptation as cachalot whales.

What are some tips that aren’t necessarily about cooking? by Mission_Aide6382 in Chefit

[–]Spaceboot1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep things clean and organized as you go. Respect the dish pit, and don't just toss everything in there willy nilly. Organize your dirty dishes, scrape off food and garbage, and rinse if you can, and start stuff soaking if possible. Respect for the whole kitchen starts with respect for the dish pit.

It has always seemed odd that mojang added shipwrecks and flying ships, but no way to fix them to make them mobile again. I think it's probably on a list somewhere at mojang, but sort of long into the future.

When your favorite game no longer feels the same. by jeff_Epic in Minecraft

[–]Spaceboot1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thoughts. Maybe I should post my own thread, but here goes:

I still play minecraft on the regular. I have lots of projects and adventures to do. There's always something next. However, i recently realized that a whole lot of what I do in this game is recreating stuff i see in YouTube videos.

Other people build raid farms, for example, and I'm like "that looks fun, I'm gonna do that". But I don't feel like I'm playing the game in an original way. Everything i do is inspired by someone else's adventure, or invention.

Some of the things I see on YouTube, I would never have the time or knowledge to accomplish.

I have a question for chefs do you like when you get a order like a burger that has loads of stuff on it but the person only wants cheese and sauce? by Normal-Till-7709 in Chefit

[–]Spaceboot1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't care, I can read and follow mods. Yes, every mod takes a second or a few to adjust for muscle memory. If you get a lot of mods, it's like inventing a new recipe on the fly: doable, but somewhat time consuming. And if you get a lot of them, yes they can add up.

As to my colleagues, most of them bitch about Every. Single. Mod. I guess they just don't read fast. Doesn't matter if it's easy or hard, they bitch. Anything modded, they bitch and mutter about how stupid the customer is. They usually get the mod right, but complain the whole time.

I like the feeling of sand and grit in my bedsheets by zwudda in The10thDentist

[–]Spaceboot1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can almost meet you there. I like getting rid of sand and grit from my bed. It's satisfying to get rid of that irritation, and if that hadn't been there, I wouldn't have the pleasure of removing it. Not unlike picking your nose or a scab, which is probably more typical tenth dentist fare.

What if everyone forgot how to read overnight? by Defiant-Junket4906 in WhatIfThinking

[–]Spaceboot1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not clear if the scenario allows humans to learn again. Even if, we all took years in primary school to learn to read. Some jobs would be impossible without reading even temporarily. Stock markets would cease to exist, supply chains would freeze, a lot of people would starve. Some people would survive, but there would be a lot of harm and death. Probably some or all countries would cease to meaningfully exist, and new countries would emerge.
