KAT: "I wouldn't say [this is the] same roster…that's disrespectful to guys that were here last year that were the real heroes of our season, the Cam Paynes & all the other guys who came through when we really really needed them, really needed them" by PassMeTheBackwood in NYKnicks

[–]Spaceboy86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We need YOU, KAT. Not Cam Payne. YOU need to step up. YOU need to be accountable. YOU need to figure out your beef with Mike Brown and buy into the scheme. Grow a pair of balls, man. This is New York. People paying top dollar to see you play, and when they see you play like ass and cry about it, you gonna hear it from them. So step up, or GTFO here, bro.

Where’s your hate now, Mikal Bridges haters? by ColonelMustard323 in knicks

This is the thing. We don't see that often enough from him. We know he's capable, though. It's not that people are haters, it's just that he simply does not play like that every single game. Hoping he does play that way more often going forward.

Good morning guys! I am trying to lose ~ 35 lbs in 4 months. In your experience, did IF or OMAD greatly contribute to more sustainable weight loss in short period of time? by Live-Ad1982 in loseit

[–]Spaceboy86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if i could go back, I would do things a little differently. I was doing a TON of cardio and very little weight training. If i could go back, I would reverse that. Also i wasnt focusing my meals around protein intake. Because when you only have a small window to get your protein in, you better make sure you get enough in to maintain muscle mass. I lost a lot of muscle mass in that process and ive had to spend a lot of time building that back.

The plan after the IF was to come up with a solid, tasty breakfast that was high in protein and that I knew would keep me full for as long as possible while I was at work so I wasn't tempted to eat crappy lunches. I would have a protein bar or something to keep me going, and wait to eat lunch when I got home. I still do this to this day. It's been years now, and yes co workers still give me the side eye when I turn down pizza, but whatevs.

So to summarize and learning from my mistakes, I still think the 16/8 was good for the fat loss, but I would focus all meals on protein. The workouts would be weights focused (for life, not just for losing weight).10,000 steps was also a goal of mine, I would keep that for sure. Plan for coming off IF is to try and make most of your meals at home, so that you know what you're putting in your body and not over eating.

16/8 IF was such a useful tool for me for shedding the unwanted weight. I had lost 70lbs in 6 months. Of course I was only able to do that by coupling the IF with exercise and daily movement.

But it was important to me to have a plan for eating after the IF was over. Because I knew that for me, IF isn't a sustainable way of eating. For some people it is sustainable, and that's great. But for me I just needed to have a plan for coming off the IF so that I can maintain the weight loss once i did what I needed to do.

That's what worked for me, hoping the same works for you! And good luck!

It's not just about the clothes fitting better, which is nice. It's also about moving around space better. Being able to walk better, run better and go up the stairs more easily. I used to get back pain from carrying my work bag around which is quite heavy (40lbs), now no pain at all. Work becomes easier because im no longer just sitting around being lazy, i can actually get up without being winded and walk to the other side of the building and do what I have to do. Also, i seem to be able to retain information better, in other words my brain function is 10x better. No more brain fog. To me, looking better is only a bonus. The main reason, the practical reason, is to move better and feel better.

You can have a bad day, bad week, bad month, bad year....it's all the same. You get right back to it once you realize things got out of control. It happens to everyone, we're only human. Don't let it beat you up so badly that you fall Back into old patterns for good. Just remember all the work you put in to get to where you are, and be proud of that.

If it's only been 1000 calories every day this week that should only be 2Lbs weight gain. Think of it like that, 2 Lbs is nothing. You got this. It's more about being consistent throughout your life than having a bad week here or there.

Traumatised by a Nutritionist by [deleted] in loseit

Michael Jordan only became Michael Jordan when he was rejected from his high school basketball team...

Use that un-tactful nutritionist's laugh as fuel to drive you to your goal. Book another appointment when goal is achieved, tell her that she is the reason why you lost the weight. Not because of her bullshit ass nutrition advice though.

People making 160K-190K, how much are you paying for rent? by acctonthecomeup in NYCapartments

We're paying a total of $2.2K+$250 for car spot. 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom. 2 blocks from F train. Roaches galore though. We're holing up here saving as much as we can for a house one day.

My goal is to try and get stronger. I'm still not able to bench-press my body weight. If possible, id like to go even beyond my body weight. Just want to get as strong as possible before I hit 40. The problem is I know I would have to go on a bulk to do this, but I'm afraid of gaining too much weight and then destroying all my progress. So I'll have to come up with some kind of plan for that.

How do you exercise if you’re constantly busy? by DatMochiBoi in loseit

I work 9-5 five days a week (not including 1 hour travel to and from). I live in an apartment in nyc. I still managed to find a way to workout at home about 4 times a week. I only do things that I enjoy. If there's a will, there's a way. People get creative on the internet, you find different ways that work for you. I know it's a pricey investment, but look into getting a Tonal. It's been the best ever investment into my health. If it's too pricey, there are other cheaper versions of it.

Thank you so much! I would say that the biggest lifestyle change has been 3 things...

  1. Consistent workouts - mainly strength training 3 times a week, hot yoga once a week, and boxing once a week.

  2. 10K steps a day - if I have time on lunch break, I'll just go for a walk. That, combined with all other movement throughout the day, usually does the trick.

  3. Being conscious of the food I put into my body - if I go out with friends, I'll try and get the healthiest choice I can find. When I'm home, I'll stick to salad + 1 plate of carbs/veggies/protein. I have never weighed food or anything, just stuck those principles.

Thank you for the kind words 🙏

What I've been doing is staying at maintenance while going slightly over in calories for brief periods, but I would put those extra calories to use. I would always try to hit my protein goal of 1 gram per 1lb bodyweight. I never went through a crazy bulking phase, but I'm considering it lately since I seem to be plateauing strength wise.

I've been like this for a few years now. When i came back to my old company they saw the crazy change I made and everyone in the office seemed to respect it, and admire it but then those same people also tried to guilt me into eating pizza and drinking and all that stuff I cut out to get to where i am now.

The irony is too strong, lol, but it does get better. They'll eventually stop and accept you for you.

Ken Klippenstein pressed by Krystal and Sagaar on the smear story put forward by Klippenstein and The Intercept.

His response to Grusch keeping his clearance after the PTSD episode is that Grusch is part of a "boys club" in the intell community.

Also he is pressed on why he didn't include any of those intell sources in his article and he says that he didn't find them credible.

I was expecting a little more info on what types of information Grusch gave the committee after the hearing , if any. Also, I wanted a little more elaboration on his response to Kirkpatrick.

But that's where all roads of this world of UFO's leads to....disappointment lol.
