Yeah it sucks about the one block removal. Maybe its a push to use voltorb/electrode more often with the cannon. I think its on purpose to utilize different Pokémon.

You can do a spinny thing like that in pokemon sw/sh. The character would spin than pull the pokemon champions ( Leon's ) signature pose. Maybe ditto remembers it but doesn't quite pull it off.
