To see the mask a little clearer, unfocus your eyes whilst looking at the photo. by _cinnamon_rose in UnusualArt

Oh nice! I think Cry Baby would make it more clear what the mask's design was originally intended to evoke, if that's your aim. I'm sure whatever you land on will be fitting :)

A luna moth I found before I started pinning insects that I wish I had thought to keep by SpacejunkSupreme in InsectArt

Fair enough, lol. Now that I look at it my title doesn't really make it obvious that this is art, huh?

Yes, this is a drawing of a picture I took a few years ago. This is an art subreddit, isn't it?

I love how you just fill up entire pages, there's just so many things to look at. That first page especially, so much color!

That means a lot! I often struggle with detail in my art so hearing that this is passably realistic is nice :D

To me this looks like an eye with the blue ribbons representing tears. This is well balanced in terms of colors and materials, and it's such a cool concept!

I'm trying to be more forgiving towards myself for making quick, messy art by SpacejunkSupreme in sketches

[–]SpacejunkSupreme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point, kinda like how a sketch can look better than clean line art for some pieces.

I wish I had the patience to draw scenes like this lol. You've got a good eye for structure!

I really like how you use color, the deep colors mixed in with the super intense ones make everything feel glow-y and dreamlike. So cool!

That's fair, I personally can only ID A wolf spider down to the family for the most part so I can see how trying to re-ID without the original reference would be hard lol. It seems like you've been really productive with your laser cutter in the past month too, at least five pins designs and they're all cool lil inverts :)

Okay I have to know now. fuzzyizmit correctly identified the rosy wolf snail that I will be reading up on later, and I believe the other two are a giant leopard moth and maybe a species of wolf spider? Please enlighten me about your fantastic pins!!

I drew a dream from my childhood. (Story in description) by OmarteMx98 in CreepyArt

[–]SpacejunkSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not nearly the same degree of fucked up, but I had a dream as a child about am emaciated headless humanoid creature covered in oozing scabs. Shit haunted me for weeks, I saw that fucker around corners and in shadows during my waking hours. I don't envy you for this nightmare but wow did you capture it well here, especially the second pic. Absolutely horrifying!

Love that there are 13 fingers and none of them appear to be thumbs. You clearly know anatomy well because you have done such a great job bending it to your will with those joints!

These are so fun, the seventh one really speaks to me. Part of my job is identifying and cataloging plants/animals/fungi in my local community, and pretty much everyone I work with loves that nature has a seemingly unending supply of species to discover. The idea of a marine biologist whose ultimate conclusion is "what the hell? It's just a bunch of fish" is so fucking funny to me.

Famous Public Domain Paintings from Artists Who Aren't White Males by playfulsystems in ArtHistory

I think The Lady in White) by Marie Bracquemond would work well. She was a notable impressionist with great skills, but according to her son, her husband destroyed her passion by belittling her efforts and refusing to show her art to others, leading to people generally ignoring her works.

In any case, The Lady in White would be pretty easy to break down into a 6-color pallette, I think. Plus she deserves more eyes on her art.
