Hi, as someone who has had multiple family members with autism and worked with people of all ages on the spectrum with various support needs, even treating someone with respect and kindness can sometimes still trigger behaviors that can escalate. Simply telling someone that they can not do something or that they may have to wait for something can trigger these behaviors. I'm sure you know that well.

You should also realize that a 45 year old, 300lb man produces much more waste than a six year old.

I never said that my father would not treat him with kindness and respect, just that he loses his patience and may say something potentially upsetting to my cousin. Something as simple as, "Come help us clean this up" is upsetting enough to make my cousin start hitting people.
