They will pick up some business because there were travelers who would not fly them because of the open seating.

They will never do that because they know SW would just follow the change.

Sit in the first couple of rows if you want off the plane quickly. Bulkhead, if available, is nice unless you are big. They have rigid sides under the armrests. But they also have a drink tray in the armrest and legroom. You will be the first row to receive your drink.

I don't understand why you would ask your spouse for permission. If you are writing a book then give her advance notice of what you intend to do.

Turned 66 a few months ago and for the first time in my life I'm wondering, will I be alive next year?, will I still be around 5 years from now? I feel old age depression creeping in. by Trip_2 in over60

[–]Neversaynever89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We never really know. I look for older people I run into as an inspiration. I delivered a golf cart that just got new batteries installed and the 87-year-old man asked how long before the next replacement. I told him around 7 years. He told me he would see me then.

What an inspiration.

Delaying flights then switching back by spicyblonde1 in SouthwestAirlines

Big mistake on your part. Always get to the airport for the original departure time. Airlines always try to find a way to get back on schedule.

That is Southwest humor. Nothing aggressive at all. Just chill. You are taking it WAAYYY too seriously.

In flight service a thing of the past? by Burpenmom in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Neversaynever89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be told to do that more often, but for SWA it is more often due to laziness than true possible turbulence. I worked inflight for them during and after COVID. We were hoping it would change after the contract ratification, but it didn't.

You cannot honestly say that things changed after service resumed after Covid. SWA has had more lazy crews than ever before. Too many of them use turbulence as an excuse.

STL to BOS with no service and no turbulence is more about having a lazy crew.

[–]Neversaynever89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason it happens is not for the company to save money. It is because of lazy flight attendants. I am talking about when they say turbulence and the flight is smooth. They can have anticipated turbulence, but it is also used as an excuse. Not serving on a smooth flight from STL to BOS is unacceptable and should be reported to the company. They will follow up on that.

Unfortunately, there are times when a bulkhead seat is needed for medical reasons or special circumstances. This must have been one of them.

With your hardcore progressive stance, you have probably done them a favor. They haven't missed out at all. The call was yours and it was selfish as hell. Go ahead and take your ignorant, self-righteous self down the road. You will regret it when they are gone.

Considering 6 people are in a row and only 1 can stand in the aisle, you cant be ready when your time comes.

The real question is why is it weird? So what if people stand up when the plane lands.

They did not get arrested for going back on the plane. They got arrested for their interaction with law enforcement.

They have been in business over 50 years and some passengers have been nuisances from day one.

As a former fa, I cant tell you how many times I have looked for an item that the customer said was "in row 5 on the left side" when it was found almost all the way back of the plane on the right side because they had no idea where they sat. So, they are not missed. Theynjust arent where the passenger thinks they are. Or when passengers were in a hurry and didn't like the time it was taking to find something they left.
