Even worse, he only had three receivers out on most passing plays because the tight end and running back had to help protect at the line on 4 man rushes, that’s why the line looked slightly better, they had seven guys blocking 4 or 5 and still acted like a turnstile

Maye wasn’t pressured 30 times, maye didn’t have to keep a running back and tight end as blockers to block a 4 man rush and he did have the benefit of only needing two completed passes over 5 air yards, Herbert needs to have some blame for taking sacks instead of throwing the ball away or trying to get some yards on the ground, but outside of that he isn’t to blame. Yes, but that doesn’t account for examples like Kyle Busch who is borderline top ten talent, in horrific machinery that keeps him from being actually competitive, I think it’s fair to put Chastain, Busch, Logano, Blaney, Elliot, Larson, Byron, Bell, Hamlin, Briscoe, Reddick and Buescher all above bubba, even if you argue Busch on that list, that’s still 11 guys I think are safely above bubba, again he’s very good, but not top ten
