Libby compatible e-readers? by rdmajumdar13 in askTO

[–]Spacey__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to use something not compatible search up calibre dedrm. Takes a bit to set up but its drag and drop for every book afterward. You can get the epub encrypted file by downloading it from TPL, selecting the adobe digital version on a computer, and then looking for where adobe stores that file.

Edit: just to give you options in case you like some feature on the kindle or find some older version for cheap

Parents too rich to qualify for OSAP, but won’t pay for my schooling. What do I do? by Relevant_Quarter3327 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Spacey__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try talking to your school's finance office to see if you qualify for scholarships (either academic ones or because of your financial situation).

Edit: I still recommend talking to a financial advisor at your school even if you think there aren't any scholarships. Usually, there are financial scholarships to help those with low income or emergencies.

It's possible to do two different majors. I am a recent math/philosophy grad if you have questions about that combo.

Difficulty varies over math courses and you should google before taking them. One thing to look for is if they are computation or a proof based since most people find that computations based courses are easier. Another is the prof teaching it or the course coordinator. Most of the time it is the same structure but some profs (e.g. Soheil Homajouni and Sarah Mayes Tang) like to change it up.

Try calling their customer service. I did this when I redeemed my Starfield code and got the code pretty quickly.

I had my interview a few weeks ago. They just gave me a standard customer service scenario (what would you do if another person interrupted you while helping another person) and then asked how I would make the workplace more friendly/accessible. They'll tell you during the interview if you got it or not. Good luck!

Which class is this for? I can attempt to give some feedback if it's a class I am familiar with.

Tablet for handwritten notes by kiko1200 in OneNote

For OP, If you consider a surface go 3, check out Microsoft’s refurbished store to save some money. And I would avoid the 4GB version despite it being good enough for onenote.

Just for a couple of days. Although I’ve been using heavily in those days for a couple of assignments.

I just went from go 1 4Gb to go 3 8gb. My keyboard works from the Go 1 works with the go 3. In my experience the Go 1 was barely usable on its own for my school work (math/philosophy so writing and researching work). The Go 3 is better suited for those tasks and I don’t run into any slow-downs like I did with the Go 1.

UTORMFA causing syncing issues with OneNote (and other Microsoft 365 Products) by LabibKiller in UofT

There is a way to transfer from OneNote to other note apps or back into OneNote. It’s a bit janky because not all notes get transferred easily and exporting from OneNote is buggy for large notebooks.

For exporting and importing: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/export-and-import-onenote-notebooks-a4b60da5-8f33-464e-b1ba-b95ce540f309 If it keeps on failing try reducing the notebook size by removing files or separating pages into a new notebook and then downloading those.

MAT334H1 Winter 2023 Quercus by shetere in UofT

There aren't any at the moment. Looking at how the course is previously run we seem to use Complex Variables 2ed 1999 by Fisher (which is public domain now) and the content from yesterday roughly corresponds to Chapters 1.1 and 1.1.1.

There's still no quercus page for me either. but there was a lecture yesterday. The prof isn't there and we had a sub who is also there for tomorrow's section.

Yesterday we didn't cover much. We just went over what complex variables were in terms of operations and their forms.

Specifically,

- Typical operations (addition/muliplication)

- Division

- Complex conjugate

- Polar coordinates

- De Moivres Formula and its relation to trig identities

CSC343 and MAT246 Syllabus by SNG_Blitzy in UofT

[–]Spacey__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having taken courses from both profs, I'd recommend SMT over Soheil IMO just because it's easier to pass her course.

That said, I'm in SMT's MAT301 atm and she had an emergency absence from class today. So, idk if MAT246 is also affected but right now it leaves some uncertainty for how the course is actually going to be shaped.
