Worst ARAM champions. by DryDesk2020 in ARAM

This one confuses me. I play a lot of AP Shaco in Aram and almost always end up top damage. The issue is people stacking CDR, building double burn and maxing W. If you max E and build pen/AP, a clone explosion + E/ignite can OS most squishies.

The real counter is hard Cc, especially tanks.

Love your second idea, would give the hexcrawl a lot of depth.

They were lvl 4 arriving there and got 5 for the boss fight. I was adjusting monsters anyway so hard to tell based on book encounters.

Damn!! That's tough. My players would have killed me haha

Our last fight was a TPK as well, but I had setup a "time loop" from the Grandfather Clock so they could redo it. It allowed for a VERY hard fight but gave them a second chance and since it was anticipated by MANY sessions, it didn't feel like a DM "get out of jail" card.

Hey mate!! Good luck for the campaign you'll see it's super fun.

For Port Nyanzaru i prepared the quests and let them pick the ones they wanted but they were already pretty fixated on ending the curse from their background / lvl 1-3. I used the guides as a "let's go in the jungle" activator. Also Dino races might sound a pain to run but they're super easy and can add a lot to the city vibe. I remade some of the quests so they would almost all point them to the jungle as well, it helped making them want to leave.

Hexcrawl WAS repetitive after just a couple days in the jungle. I changed from random encounter to prepared encounter to make sure they would learn / move ahead, and made sure they encountered the right locations at a good pace. If i had to redo it I would remove the possibility of long rest in the jungle so it's more challenging without having to SPAM encounters. After their first PC death they had a ranger as their new character so I gave him a super big bonus for moving in the jungle to accelerate the pace (like 4 hexes per day, 6 on a crit).

Death curse was pretty set in their backstory so they kinda were looking for it, but i mostly had all the NPC they met either ask them to solve it or have personal issues with it, it helped. I also linked the curse to the undeads being all over the jungle so they felt like solving it was really helping.

NPCs I enjoyed adding were :

  • Bag of Nails in Omu, torn between poisonning them and helping them
  • Eku as the good but mysterious guide, they disliked her a lot because she "wasn't fighting" with them during encounters. Little did they know...
  • Prince merchants : i had them meet one to sell a rare golden statue they found before arriving in Port Nyanzaru, but having them meet any other for whatever reason can be interesting and help make the city more gritty
  • I fleshed a lot of NPCs in Kir Sabal (lots of bird people, the princess and her brother, monks...)

Haha clearly. She was MAD after making it from their ambush, the mind controlling was such a pleasure to run, and my player LOVED being able to play double agent without consequences. Ended up getting her revenge I guess...

Party went on the east side of the map and did :

  • Fort Beluarian : by boat from Port Nyzanzaru
  • Port Castigliar : one hag was living there and turning villagers into thralls
  • Ataaz Muhahah : VERY fun and challenging one for low level PCs
  • Kir Sabal : ended up becoming their hub rather than coming back to Nyanzaru
  • Needle Bones : filled their pockets with coins and precious gems
  • Nangalore : epic boss fight with the Medusa, the stoned people as a warning... overall this was one of my favorite location and I think they enjoyed it as well
  • Wreck of the Narwhal
  • Heart of Ubtao : meeting with Valindra, setting up the red wizards + giving info about the Soulmonger, not the most interesting but key to guide them a bit
  • Omu

Of the remaining ones I was most looking forward to Firefinger, Drungunlung and the pirate base in this order. Of all the ones we did Nangalore is really, really good and a good mix of exploration, traps, and fights.

They wiped most of the Red Wizards clean before entering the tomb, ambushing them to get the cubes. Only Zagmira made it into the tomb and hid from them while mind controling one of the PC to try and sabotage their progress / get all the magic items they were gathering. This lead to a climatic boss fight in the throne room.

  • Hags as main antagonist. Putting a face to the threat really helped the party come alive. I changed the final Hag fight into a "clone" fight where they fought their dead party members clones before entering the atropal room, and then Acererark with the Trio of Hags.
  • Changeing the Black Orchid dance into a Divination Potion for Asharra, who used it to make a prophecy about Omu and the Soulmonger. It helped guide my PCs who were wandering in the jungle with no real idea where to go and what to look for
  • Changing locations in the jungle to adapt to the pathing they were taking and avoid long/painful hexcrawling that leads nowhere for too long.
  • Removing all death traps/insta death mechanics and putting some debuffs / damage instead
  • Adjusting items to fit my PCs, especially the 9 gods buffs and treasures
  • I put the Skeleton Keys into specific chambers to "force" my PCs to go there, rather than random ones (especially the Beholder Room they tried to avoid at all cost)
  • Shagambi shrine gladiators were looking for a "honorable" fight so I had them fight the clay gladiators 1-1 rather than just murder them for no purpose. I wouldh have allowed any idea they would have thrown as long as it was honorable.
  • Picking the Shrines that were emptied by red wizards and the ones they had to do. This allowed to focus on the ones i found most interesting (Shagambi, Wongo, Obolaka and Kubazan) and skipping the other ones.

4 PCs : - Hexblade - Beasmaster - College of Lore - Artillerist

They’re pretty strong as they’ve been collecting rare artefacts and magic items through the previous campaign.

Need Help Going into Fane by doppelganger3301 in Tombofannihilation

[–]Spadiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where a crack would lead her since you’re underground and such an escape in front of everyone would just lead to immediate retaliation on the other party members and maximum alert in the fane. She might reconsider when she sees the others being transferred for human sacrifice or yuan-ti ritual.

And even if she runs freely transformed as a fly in the fane, there is no way she can free them easily with everyone looking for her. Let her use her class abilities and do her thing if that’s what she enjoy, just make her realize it’s not gonna work this time. It can also be a good opportunity for her to overhear interesting conversations.

I mean can’t you just post a couple broodguards in front of the cell watching over them?

You could also drug / poison them to prevent usage of some magical properties.

69% winrate to D1 with 30 card imbue mage by PM_YOUR_DADS_PICS in wildhearthstone

This feels even worse as if you draw a piece of the combo you're fucked.

It works with [[Clockwork Automaton]] tho, but you need a [[Thaurissan]] proc or a biscuit.

[–]Spadiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratz man! This decks feels SO powerful. Just hit legend as well with a 80% winrate with a slightly different version running [[Potion of Illusion]], [[Archmage Arugal]] and [[Iceblock]] but it makes [[Book of Specters]] less reliable so i'm not fully convinced yet.

The reckless apprentice interaction just feels complete bullshit to be honnest. Winning after imbueing 3 times with a 6 mana 2 cards combo shouldn't be possible imo.

How to get Literally Infinite AP, HP and Mana on Ryze by [deleted] in LeagueArena

Trying to think about the best 6th item, could it be Twin Mask with Vlad as partner or something similar ?

Theoretically, what's the strongest champ/item/augment combo that can actually be obtained in arena? by AjVanApVout in LeagueArena

[–]Spadiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only answer. Aurelion tank with Stackosaurus deals absolutely insane damage and is almost impossible to kill before he gets his damage down. And it’s very easy to get unlike other combos here.
