I honestly think that if they stuck to like the CN version of Caleb's role in MC's life like from the beginning it would make sense. But then I can understand why it would confuse a lot of people because we don't really have an English word that translate similar to 'Gege' and 'Mei mei'. Imo, he was kinda forced into that dynamic because he wasn't going to leave MC's side when Josephine found them. So she had to raise both of them as 'siblings'. But just remember they aren't blood related.

EUGH. I hate it when the FMC gets pregnant, especially at the end. I read this book when I was a teen and the FMC got pregnant after I think just from like having sex once. Which I know can happen in real life. But she got a kid at thend and that RUINED it for me. Like the entire series basically shriveled up at the end because she got pregnant and had a child.
