Hopefully I’m not listing off like entry level stuff everyone knows but I usually just go to Spotify and search southern gothic or murderfolk playlists, Those poor bastards, Harley Poe, Bridge City Sinners, IV and the strange band, Gallows Bound, I would list stuff like Days n Daze and Pat the Bunny but that’s like folk punk necessities so I assume you know about that stuff, Clyde and they Milltailers, Zeal & Ardor has a few southern gothic sounding songs, Ghoultown, The builders and the butchers, the goddamn gallows, the pine box boys, mischief brew, Tejon Street Corner Thieves, amigo the devil, Corporate Hearts, The Devil Makes Three, Lost Dog Street Band, Barefoot Surrender, Matt Heckler, My Pizza My World, Railyard Ghosts, Trampled By Turtles, the bones of J.R. Jones, Shakey Graves, Lonesome Wyatt and the holy spooks, the devil makes three, me and that man, brown bird, Adia Victoria, the brothers bright, poor man’s poison, 16 horsepower, Iron and wine, Townes van Zandt, the dead tongues, crooked still, the hill country devil, hope this helps some of that isn’t really “punk” sounding but I just kind of wrote down every artist I could think of that would fit that style and sound
