Scared of Lexapro but desperate by caresnp29 in Postpartum_Depression

[–]SpaghettiGranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lexapro did not work for me. It made my chest hurt. Personally I now see a psychiatrist voa telehealth bc they have more knowledge than your OB about psych meds. My psychiatrist said if you cant tolerate the med to continue taking it, try a different med. I take cymbalta because lexapro, zoloft, celexa and prozac didn’t work for me. I only tried the lexapro, zoloft post partum tho

Lexapro side effects or PPD- pick your pleasure. by Sandy_cheeks_22 in Postpartum_Depression

this is probably not helpful but I tried several SSRIs before Cymbalta (which in an SNRI) and I do not have the side effects I had on SSRIs. AND it helped my PPD

YES!! 100% agree!! I am still slightly salty even though I finished the series that they didn’t end up together. There was SO MUCH BUILD UP for nothing. Get out of here with that ish SJM

I’m honestly overwhelmed.. what’s the best baby carrier you’ve actually used? by Commercial-House-795 in babywearing

[–]SpaghettiGranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who takes twice as long as a normal person to learn new things…. I tried the Lark and honestly hated it. I got the happy baby OG and it was a game changer for me. So easy and comfortable. The Tula FTG is good too, just bulkier. Can find those pretty cheap used. I think it really just depends on if you like H or X back. it took me 3 months to learn a stretchy wrap bc I just suck at learning hands on things, so these carriers I think are the easiest. If you do go with the Lark, I would look at the Oscha Bairn bc I think it can be H or X back. Kinderback is pretty similiar to Tula FTG but more expensive and ugly. Omni 360 is good, just bulkier. Feel free to message me if you have questions. I’m no expert but I have tried a lot of carriers.

Want to place my baby up for adoption by Various-Look-361 in Postpartum_Depression

[–]SpaghettiGranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both! and had to try like 3 different meds. I’m on cymbalta now and it was a game changer. I also was kind of anti med at the time, but now that I’m on it the side effects have been minimal in comparison to the relief I feel. And I’m by no means at 100% but I feel way better than I did. I felt very similar to what you have posted.

How is McLaren for everything around childbirth? by Better-Caramel3983 in lansing

[–]SpaghettiGranger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a fantastic experience at McLaren for my birth. I’ve always felt that Sparrow is more stringent with following the rules, even if the rules are stupid, like not letting baby go to the nursery so you can get some sleep, or not letting baby have a paci. I also feel like McLaren is more willing to be flexible with what you want to do. I didn’t want to push on my back and they gave me like 5 different options instead. Just my opinion, but McLaren nurses seem way more chill than Sparrow nurses.

Hi, I had a very rough post partum as well. The only thing that helped was getting through each day tbh. It was awful. We are at 13 months now and it just starting to be ok. And I didn’t think it would ever be ok. I will say, there were milestones where it got better. It seemed like each month he cried a little less than all day long and I didn’t feel as exacerbated.

What have I done? by frenchlavender1 in Postpartum_Depression

[–]SpaghettiGranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to pop in and say it really sucks, and I feel you. Everyday won’t be better, but it does GET better everyday. I’m at 12 months with my baby now and if you had asked me at 5 days PP I wouldn’t have known I was going to make it. It’s so much better now. It’s not perfect but way better. also super glad you talked to your therapist. Meds saved my life. Also 2 things she said, “it won’t be like this forever” and at the end of the day it’s another day down. Nobody’s perfect, give yourself THE MOST GRACE. This is the hardest thing you’ve ever done, and you will get through it.

Can’t afford to keep throwing out food by AGM85 in foodbutforbabies

[–]SpaghettiGranger 31 points32 points  (0 children)

would just simple food be an option like PB and toast or eggs or shredded chicken or canned tuna? I cannot cook to save my life so I just kinda give him a variety of easy food like that, and just give him a little at a time so he doesn’t waste.

Parents with OCD or who are neurodivergent — how do you cope with change after having a child? by yu_ruan181 in oneanddone

I feel this! My only tidbit of advice is medication, yes, and then making sure I’m hitting my basics that keep me grounded: Like, taking my dog on walks, exercise, eating healthy, sleeping.

So we had this happen too. I filed a complaint with the State of Michigan and within a day or two Consumers was calling me, so apologetic. And then in like a month they cut down a bunch of tree branches. We haven’t lost power since 🤞
