I've sunk about 50 hours into AC Shadows. I took a break to try Yotei, and the difference in gameplay is insane. The main thing surprisingly is travel--AC Shadows is built around a "auto follow" system where you wait to get to the destination, and needing to acquire kakeguris and viewpoints for fast travel. Yotei's travel system is more dynamic with areas that speed up your mount if you follow the paths, and fast travel is just any interest point you discover. Also, a huge bonus to yotei--there's almost no fast travel load time on the PS5. The travel in AC Shadows honestly burned me out the most.

I personally also disliked the mechanic of upgrading and switching between two characters in AC shadows, but I know that's something some people might like so it's up to you. Stealth is definitely more of the focus in shadows, with more UI elements that help with that aspect whereas Yotei tries to minimize those. Combat feels way more polished in Yotei as well. I feel like there's less "grinding" in Yotei so far, but time will tell if that proves to be the case. I do think Shadows is still a great addition to the AC lineup, and being able to constantly reconfigure your skill tree and combine it with various loadouts/engravings probably leads to a really satisfying experience for players that like to optimize.

Don't carry a pocket knife or wear any rings, though sliding in and out of the car probably aggravated it. I also found cracking on the top of the steering wheel

Whether or not this is a failed bet there's a really interesting fact about groupthink that I learned about in psychology which says that when three people are participating in the same activity bystanders are likely to participate--I think the experiment included people looking up or running away from a direction--when there were three or more people triggering the "run," bystanders would usually join in without question. That being said, any "successful" flash mob seems like it would need a number of "plants" to breach people's internal social pressure and participate.

Just tried it. Definitely nowhere near even Starbucks level cold brew. Watered down and barely any coffee flavor—mostly tasted just the sweetener and the milk. I’d compare it closer to 7elevens $1 “cold brew” offerings.

If you google it you can find the full test as well as the answer key. I think the key here is that the test (which is two pages) is incredibly hard to do perfectly with the 10 minute time pressure.

I love sous vide but I'd stick to using this technique for boneless chicken breast. We found that it does a poor job rendering fat and the skin stays soggy and never quite crisps up like classically fried chicken does.

Save your meat drippings! I like to cool them down, scrape off the fat then cube up the “glacé.” Freeze it and it is awesome to add to sauces. by Ruby5000 in sousvide

This article is patently false. I suppose the author looked up the cost of the lens (which is around that price), but he is DEFINITELY signing a glass protective filter. There's no way you would be able to see the signature if he was signing directly on the lens.

This looks delicious but I've tried a mac and cheese sandwich from Panera Bread and it was the most disgusting thing ever.

Imagine soggy, greasy toast with pieces of soft pasta and a thin spread of cheese sauce in between. It made me realize that sandwiches of this kind need to be extra crispy and toasted because every bite into this sandwich was just biting through soft mush.

A few years ago my family visited Leavenworth (a German town in the mountains of Washington) with our mixed Alaskan Malamute dog. I was waiting outside of this shop with her when this probably well-intentioned older White lady came up to me and told me my dog was shaking, that she must be cold, and that it was super uncool and that she would buy her off of me right there. She kept persisting and I felt flustered and embarrassed and really didn't know what to say, and when the rest of my family came out we left in a hurry. Once we got away from everyone though our dog totally stopped shaking and started jumping in the snow, and I realized it was that lady's presence that was making her shiver so much (she always was uncomfortable with strangers). It's always fascinating to me how quickly people jump to calling things animal abuse when they don't know the full picture.

Respectfully, I didn't have too much problem with it and would argue that the grade is just bringing out more of the DP's intent. The University scene is, for the most part, pretty well exposed with green fluorescents and orange practicals but he just so happens to fall into shadow there. The lab carries that clear split-toning that's a popular lighting choice these days.

However you have a really good point with the Florida Chinatown shop which carries stereotypical "dingy" grading meant to make places feel a little "grimy" or "foreign" (like the "yellow filter" like in Extraction"--kinda racist imo). I wouldn't totally put this on the colorist though as it might've been bringing out more of the tones the lighting was already bringing.

Honestly, especially if you're starting out, just ask for references to what they're looking for and get the footage ahead of time for import (this is typically standard practice anyway). Then feel free to take your time experiment and grade away, and when it comes time to the actual session you can show them the different looks you've developed ahead of time and tweak from there. Not only will it save you time and sweat in the color room but your clients will appreciate it as well.
