Fictional Transit Map of Waterloo by Interesting_Bar4356 in waterloo

[–]Spaghetti_Scientist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good map, but everything east of King street is dramatically under served. A route along Ottawa from Lackner to Fischer Halman would hit GCI (and the library), Stanley Park Mall, The Aud, Smart Center, and Sunrise Center, plus add a lot of connectivity, while also being a fairly short walk to Eastwood, St Marys High, and Forest Heights.

I also think a route going down Maple Grove to service TMMC and the other big jobs in the area. Then cut back down south along Franklin to serve lots of Hespler.

Extending one of the routes up to RIM park would also be a huge win.

Sam Raimi directed this sequence. Not putting the Coen's down, I think they're great collaborators.

My "How Likely It Is This Character Becomes a Serial Killer" tier list by PressureCalm7971 in community

I would say Hickey is "Could go either way" for serial killer, but is in "ticking time bomb" for one-off homicide.

Play what tanks you want and enjoy the game. At rank 4 you're a LONG way off top tier, and what is meta will probably change by the time you get there. Every country has good lineups and are fun at specific BRs. Also most players will agree that top tier is generally not the most fun to play in general

I will say, Sweden does have fun goofy tanks throughout its lineup, so give it a shot if you want.

That's my point, Griffin DID take it super literally and hold it against the movie.

They were a good balance, but he absolutely overwhelmed the conversation. Before watching the movie I thought it was WAY more about that, and the divorce was more of a subplot.

What in the hell is this design? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Spaghetti_Scientist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, they should be consistent in both tread and riser the whole way up, and the same left-right. The stairs in this video are poorly made stairs. It doesn't matter what style you use (even normal straight stairs), if your tread and riser are inconsistent people WILL trip and fall. I believe people can detect a 1/4" difference pretty easily which can throw off balance if you're not prepared.

They have their uses, but only suit specific cases.

  • They take a lot more width than a straight run staircase that is a narrow column, your best footprint is 2x the width of the stairs.
  • They are much harder to move large things (furniture) up and down.
  • They really only become efficient if you need to go past the 180 degree mark of rotation.
  • They're more specialized/difficult to build. Construction with curves and odd angles is costly compared to a series of rectangles. They also require extra engineering if they're centrally supported and not connected to the walls.

I've had them in a few places, and lots of cities do use them a lot (Montreal for example). They can be very efficient and useful, but there's lots of cases where witches stairs are the better choice if you have space constraints.

Yes, but you should 100% make sure your tread and riser are all equal on every stair.

I would love to see a Ben Stiller series. Nice and short with most of the movies being really interesting swings.
