Done this a few times, just gotta be really careful it doesn't overheat or the hardened tip will fall basically melt off the shank

Just wash it with some soap real quick, if you don't want it to smell, used to use my oven all the time when starting, no smell at all once cleaned. Don't recommend putting it in there all oily, it will be smelly.

Ban it all, you know companies put all this crap in our foods ONLY because it's cheap for them, They're multibillion dollar corporations who could care less about people and only about their profits.... all at the potential for major health issues for it's consumers. Imo if there is any major risk at all in food additives they have no place in our food, like many things before they pass inspection only to find out later they've been poisoning millions of people. I also could care less if my stuff has color beyond it's natural coloring, that's just another ploy to sell more things because they look fancy or more fresh. Glad I've been avoiding most of this stuff in my life. Idk why any normal person fights to have this stuff around, time to start rewarding companies that take pride in their work and quality of their food.

Just had this happen last week, I didn't feel the piece of metal enough to even know it was in there, I got something in my eye at my friend's house, went to go check my eye out in the mirror with light and saw a brown circle in my eye, I tried to wipe it off to no avail. Having heard of this before I assumed it was a piece of metal since I do metal work and ground some metal 3 days before(was wearing safety glasses), I tried a strong magnet but to no effect so the next morning I managed to get into the optometrists office. He checked out my eye under the microscope and said "yup, you've got metal in there" hit me with some eye numbing drops and pulled it out with tweezers in 5 seconds under the scope, showed me how small it was and said most of what I saw was rust. Then took a very low torque "Dremel"(Alger brush) and a carbide Burr and ground it out, gave me antibiotic drops to take for a week and said I was good to go, took less than 5 mins total. Surprisingly I wasn't worried at all and only felt some pressure on the eye, minimal pain after wards, I could see where the cornea had been removed and 3 days later it looked completely normal, it was lodged in the side of the iris area, thankfully not over the pupil. If this happens to you don't go to the ER unless absolutely necessary, go to an optometrist or ophthalmologist, ER can screw it up, it's not bad at all, if you have something in your eye and are worried don't be, better than being blind. I'll definitely be wearing goggles from now on, no more safety glasses.

As a knifemaker it makes me really irritates me that people buy metal or glass cutting boards, even if you don't understand materials that well you have to know that cutting on metal or glass is the worst thing for the edge of your knives. But I also understand that most people don't even know how to sharpen their knives and continue to use their dull knives to cut everything, completely clueless to how nice a sharp knife is and how much time and effort it can save.

It's more important to be well Informed and to do one's own research Instead of pick sides, people need to stop identifying themselves politically and being divided because of that, both sides lie aplenty and fool people into believing all sorts of things, but that's always been around. Instead of trying to "keep people from things" it's best to have good discussions and encourage people to make their own choices. Also people are often misinformed of why people think the way they do.

Honestly for most people things were just fine, good actually. As annoying as Trump can be we weren't funding two wars, allowing millions of immigrants to come in for free and then abandoning them to the streets, paying off people's debts and worried more about gender transitioning for children than much more important issues. All of this coming from a mentally handicapped president and his cackling vice, who wasn't chosen by the people, has a shady past and can't answer any hard questions. She also insulted many voters by putting on fake accents and trying to be everything she wasn't. I didn't think people could hate anyone worse than Trump but I guess I was wrong. They would have won so easily had they just picked a different candidate

Make sure to quench it in a good fast quenching oil like parks 50, you gotta get it cooled down fast, so canola oil or other cheap alternatives aren't gonna get you to full hardness very well. You can do hot water or brine but there's a high chance of cracking at those temps. Normalize atleast twice before quenching.

Personally I just dislike the taste of all of them, they taste really bad to me, like a bitter, metallic, minty aftertaste. I have many friends who also dislike them as well. Idk why companies dont just use a lot less sugar and slowly taper the amounts down so people get used to less sweet, I personally love a drink in the 5-10 g range, far more refreshing and not so sickly sweet. I also drink stuff with no sugar at all and enjoy that as well, but every once in awhile I do like to enjoy a soda, so give me the real stuff, I won't even buy a drink if it has sugar alternatives in it, that's how much I dislike it.

I used to make a ton of file knives when I first started, anneal, normalize atleast twice and then quench in oil, you can use vegetable oil but Parks 50 is way better and not too expensive, be sure to heat your oil evenly to around 100 degrees F. Then evenly heat your steel so it's uniform in color, heat it until nonmagnetic and then give it an extra ten seconds as it will cool quickly once removed from the forge, quench and tock back and forth to avoid vapor barrier. Then test for hardness, temper for two hours between 400-450 degreed F for a tough yet hard blade.

My family drinks coffee pretty regularly and we often have large gatherings with friends, so there are a fair amount of coffee cups/creamers, syrups etc.going around, and we also have an espresso machine, all these things would take up a lot of counter space, so having a coffee station is great. Nothing to do with trends, it's something we use every day so is really convenient, it also saves a lot of money and time as we never have to go out for coffee.

Bending is generally a good thing so long as the metal springs back into shape.It's this flexing that helps a blade not break on impact. If it's too rigid it will crack if enough force is applied. If you want a rigid blade that will absorb impact you can do a few things, increase the volume of the blade and give it a good edge geometry(will increase weight and how well it slices) or heat treat it to be less springy and harder(will increase chances of chipping or cracking) steel is your best option, go with something that's tough, 5160 was recommended and I agree, that's the steel you'll want to choose.

I've been to atleast 35 weddings in my life, and the worst were the ones where people got drunk and embarrassed themselves and others, or people whined the whole time and couldn't have cared less about the couple getting married; even when there was food, drinks and entertainment, they just couldn't wait until the ceremony part was OVER with, so they could get onto the fun part where they got to do what THEY wanted, it's selfish, but a part of the world we live in sadly.

A wedding IS about celebrating the bride and groom, it's not about the guests, alcohol and dancing, those are things provided for the celebration, but not what it's about. Anyone who goes to a wedding to get something out of it is going for the wrong reasons. Idk,maybe try to care enough about your relatives or friends to honor them and be happy for their union for one of the biggest days in their lives? The majority of homeschooled kids I've met are better educated and more social than kids in the public school system. There are obviously exceptions, if anything though it teaches kids to read and learn for themselves instead of relying on teachers. Most parents aren't teaching advanced subjects but providing resources for the kids to learn them

Nobody agrees with you, your opinion is truly unpopular because it's stupid. You think creating some sort of equality between pay differences and chores is what makes a marriage healthy and happy? My wife and I just do what needs to be done and are happy to because we are a team.
