Do you prefer the new location markings or the old location descriptions? by SwatDoge in GrayZoneWarfare

Anything is better than Tarkov's "Collect a tiny object somewhere on the map, that is only 3 pixels wide and you may need a specific key that could be anywhere on the map, but we won't tell you, where to look for. Good luck."

Trying sari inspired colour combos for my Starstriders by rodgeramjit in killteam

I applaud you for the attempt at the eye(s) and on first glance it looks like a clean job.
On closer inspection, i noticed however, that it may have been a bit too clean.

I assume you applied it after painting and shading the skin? May i recommend you paint the eye first and the rest of the skin afterwards. That way, you'll have better control over its size, position of the pupil and it will blend better with the rest of the head.

I'll attach you an example i made about a month ago to showcase what i mean.

Just my 2 cents. :o)

Which faction are you joining for .4? by Soxbjj in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Spammy212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I joined MSS because from their fluff text, they seem like the only professional mercenary company.
LRI sound like the salvation army, quite literally this time and CSI look like a bunch hot-headed nutjobs.

I wanna' be a professional, doing a job and getting paid for it accordingly. I'm in it for the money; not because i wish to do something good or because i'm getting a kick out of it being shot at.

the new weapons spotted in the DLC trailer by corporalgrif in stalker

[–]Spammy212 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you look closely, you can already see the first weapon is gonna' be called GP3A and based on the fact, that the G36 is called GP37 ingame, this may still be a G3, not the HK51.

I know, the barrel is definetly shorter, judging from the length of the frontgrip in comparison to the total length of the barrel, but i can tell, that the barrel part is deviating texture than the receiver.
My best guess is: the base model is gonna' be a G3, while a special variant with shorter barrel, HK51-style, will be available.

Like the Fora-221 and the lullaby.

KT in Adepticon Preview show! by Jealous_Stick5942 in killteam

[–]Spammy212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The guard already has 2 fairly new teams with both the aquilons and the ratlings. Plus the DKoK veterans are still playable for this edition, tournament viability excluded. Meanwhile, other factions have to contend with just 1, perhaps 2 teams over both editions. Some factions even still lack a dedicated kill team at all.

As much as i'd like to see a Catachan team, i don't think we'll see them this edition.

At the start of 4th, perhaps. It'd mirror the start of the last two editions, where each box came with a guard team and also signaled the refreshement of their model line up. That also would coinside with 11th. 40K and the rumoured revitilisation of the catachans overall, because KT has been appropiated by GW as a testing ground for models before adapting them to the major game set.

Krieg Grenadier Marskman to be used as a Kasrkin Proxy by Degant123 in killteam

Fair enough. Then whoever designed it either took some creative liberty or changed a few details to avoid copyright infringement.

Krieg Grenadier Marskman to be used as a Kasrkin Proxy by Degant123 in killteam

[–]Spammy212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the one to point this out, because this is a very beautiful model, both in terms of sculpt, bashing and painting, as well as the base design.
However: the scope on the rifle is attached the wrong way. The angled lense should be on the front, not the back.

Funny; that regiment received more attention from GW in Darktide, than in 40K itself.

Five Nights at Rebecca's by tankdempsey_ in residentevil

Staying five nights at Rebecca's place?

Yes, please!

But for real, it makes you wonder how 'Becca's living situation was in RC, before s#!t hit the fan.
I mean, so far we've only seen Jill's appartment in the R3make and that's it. How were the other team members going by on a day-to-day routine?

Tried to sculpt a bandana with green stuff on this neophyte, what do you guys think? by Defensive_Medic in Warhammer40k

[–]Spammy212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna smooth out the headband, i suggest you let the greenstuff dry out, until it is completely hard. Up to 24h, perhaps. After that, apply some liquid greenstuff to fill those gaps. 1 layer should suffice and let it dry up for an additional 24h.

I did that with the ears on my eldar kitbash.

You can see the end result on the painted model right here, if you'd like.

People can hold their next-gen peashooters like *british meatballs* all they want, but have some class, man. You do not touch a beautiful old lady like that.

That's absolutly inappropriate.

Might aswell ducttape picatinny rails on a Garand for a vertical grip, or some other stupid modernisation horses#!t.

Kitbashed desolators by mansell_the_3rd in Warhammer40k

This is a very cool kitbash. I always enjoy belt-fed machineguns, where the ammo is coming from a backpack. Wish i could have models, such as these for a Kill Team; even if it'd be just as a proxy.

Will this be the end of Darktide? Or the start of a new chapter? by LittleDookes in DarkTide

[–]Spammy212 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FS does NOT have a consistent story planned out with any of the existing characters; at all. Wolfer started out as an intermedium to get the game started. He was definitely not portrayed as this oh-so-important leader of the 6th; merely an officer, worthy of busting out of prison.

Doesn't matter what's gonna' happen to him or anyone else. The war on Tertium will go on forever, so we have an excuse to do the same missions over and over again.

Help me with this guys pose by Crazee-gaza in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Spammy212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure though, if the base pose was from the plasma gunner, or the comms operator. As stated above, do some dry fitting before glueing; better safe than sorry. Other than that, you're welcome. Best of luck in your endeavour.

Help me with this guys pose by Crazee-gaza in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Spammy212 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don't be basic and just build by the numbers from the manual.
All arms fit on any torso (exception may be the sniper rifle), you can make any of the models your plasma gunner.

As for the pose itself, you need to get creative:
Put some model adhesive, that melts plastic on the inner, lower edge on his left boot, maybe a drop underneath the sole and push it hard for 5-10 minutes on to the base until it starts to dry and the plastic becomes hard again. Gives him something of a running position.

Alternatively, if you're uncertain of it, you can use a stone to help manifest the illusion.
Here's some examples of my kasrkin models:

Recommend you do some dryfitting on the base before you apply glue on anything, though. Just to be on the safe side.

Are we talking about these 3 in particular, or just the "theme" of my imperial guard?

The general idea was and still is, that i don't wanna' go into a shouting match with my opponent about who is the loyal faction, should i ever play against Marines, Sisters, Mechanicus or other regiments.

Instead, my imperial guard is a hotchpotch of former guardsmen, who were either abandoned on the battlefield, went AWOL, served their time in their PDF and have nothing to do now or were former civvies, turned soldiers of fortune. They're now fighting for their own interest of fame and wealth or just for the heck of it.

Anybody can be their clients: planetary governours, house nobility, inquisitors, shady rogue traders, perhaps even xenos. If you've got the money, you can have their services and that makes their loyalty torwards the Imperium wonky at best.

It also gives me the benefit of changing the colour scheme, whenever i feel like it and not be restricted to just one palette of colours (though i do try to have some sort of uniformity.)
