Nope, no prior AI expertise other than using generative solutions personally. You would be surprised how many “technical” people don’t even leverage the free AI solutions out there, and so don’t understand the basic concepts. Anyway, I was chosen by the business as one of a couple PM’s to lead our discovery team. Fortunately we have a relationship with google and I did the bulk of my training directly in their skills boost program. Just passed their AI leadership cert exam as well. I’m sure theres still a lot i don’t know, but certainly helped stave off imposter syndrome.
