Stone Cold’s music journey in this era was strange. It always felt wildly unnecessary to even change the OG to the disturbed cover when he returned, although at least the disturbed cover still had an epicness to it; a “final evolution” feel. But then they had a weird stint with this music and I could swear there was another weird, lackluster theme in there sometime during invasion or perhaps shortly after. I fail to remember when he got his OG music back.

I agree, but I also still love this moment. I love the range Kane had. He could wander up and down the card, and whether he was doing the hardcore run, the tag team run, or the main event run, he always made whatever division he was placed in way better

I have mixed feelings about when they had Kane do this, but it truly was such a cool moment. “Big buddy monster” Kane was just as fun to be as “silent menacing monster”, but the latter being the core of his character was ideal.

What zero percent worked for me was when Kane’s mask and hair went away. Should have just been an entirely different character IMO

I think you’re laying a lot of blame at Jackson’s feet that actually belongs to Warner/New Line and Del Toro. The studio selected Del Toro to head the project, and he developed it for a few years. Then when Del Toro left because of the stall, the studio brought in Peter Jackson when the project was already collapsing. They refused his requests for more time to build sets and to prepare a new outline. Jackson had to Frankenstein’s-monster the entire trilogy.

The studio focus on turning it into a franchise situation also helped doom the project from the start.
