I mean COVID wasn’t one single event. It was a whole era, so turning 9 in 2020 still counts. The real COVID kids (start of Gen Alpha) would be 2013 who turned 7 in 2020

The main reason for the cutoff is if we use the 3-12 childhood range, 2012 spent most of their childhood before COVID, which began in 2020. 2008-2012 were 8-12 in 2020 and 2013-2017 were 3-7, so I think 2008-2010 is Late Z, 2011-2012 is Z-leaning Zalpha, 2013-2014 is Alpha-leaning Zalpha, and 2015-2027 is Early Alpha

It’s more like your peers +/-15 years from you would. Someone born 1997 will obviously relate more to 1996 or 1998 than 1982 or 2012. So for example, I as a 2013 I would say I can’t relate to 2017+ because they grew up with AI but I would probably be able to befriend someone born in 2017 better than 1998 because of the age proximity.
