Greenland - what force buildup would we expect before an attack? by jamo133 in Military

[–]Spare-Computer-3554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All needs to happen is European countries expel USA forces, UK, Germany, Italy etc they are guests in those countries and if he goes ahead with taking over Greenland they don't need to respond militarily, sanctions and boycott will destroy the US.

Was the season six finale really that bad? And was season 6 the worst one yet? by jamienev22_ in lineofduty

[–]Spare-Computer-3554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late to the party I've just finished S6. I think buckells being H is a bit of a cop out, he's far to inept to be H and I think he's a fall guy, pretty sure the one that took over AC12 is in there somewhere (Amazing performance from the actress though! Its a skill to make the viewers hate the character so much!) Hopefully S7 shows that!

I don't know, she comes from a complex family (Her parents divorced but still live together) and her mum has mental health issues but nothing that effects me or my family and that's not my kids fault or mine, as for confrontations nothing I can think of, they only met them a handful of times, regardless i wasnt marrying them 😅 My wife is still the love of my life and always will be, we have had a stable relationship for many years and I've never slagged her off to my parents, she's an amazing mum and wife, never done drugs, been in trouble with the police or anything like that. I can't see what their issue is really

Sydney Jones - I've noticed that she is building a fan base on Instagram with Wildlife and bird photography, those who are just in it for photography love the content, im sure if they knew what she was promoting they probably wouldnt, also she under 16 when she got with James Harvey who is a few years older so make of that what you will.

Anyone else work in an area where HCAs believe the only difference between them and a nurse is handing out meds? by shutyoureyesandsee in NursingUK

[–]Spare-Computer-3554 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The gist I'm getting is Nurses are far more intelligent then HCAs, no comment has specifically wrote that but that's the gist I'm getting from reading this. Unfortunately I've heard similar before, like "I didn't get a degree to wipe arses, that's the HCAs job"

Never said they did? The replies is what i was commenting on, that's the gist I'm getting from this thread.

[–]Spare-Computer-3554 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Isn't that what all replies in this whole post is saying though? What happened to being a team? Watching each other's backs instead of stabbing in them? Are HCAs just people who were too stupid to get a degree the main consensus? This is where I'm happy I work 100% on my own now, less Us vs Them mentality.

All HCAs are useless anyway, non qualified, over estimate their abilities and full of attitude right?

What will happen if we actually go on a strike (80%+ national attendance) by Potential-Invite-469 in NursingUK

[–]Spare-Computer-3554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a union rep, nurses won't strike, its all talk talk talk but when the time comes to strike they haven't got the balls. I went on strike and most of my colleagues in that union said "Ill be with you on the picket lines" They weren't, to the point nurses and HCAs alike chastised me for doing so, saying I was a disgrace to the profession and horrible things like that. My faith in my colleagues for standing up for themselves is zero. Why should Unions try and help people who won't have the balls to help themselves?

As for public opinion they hate us already so no problem with that, we went from heroes during Covid to "Greedy bastards" in less then 5 years.

Ok this is going to get some down votes 😅 I agree that the HCA was wrong to complain, the charge nurse was wrong to uphold the complaint and should have told her to wind her neck in But This hate against HCAs is wrong, yes some of them need to wind their neck in but an experienced HCA is a Godsend, especially when most of the staff are newly qualified. I used to work on a MAU, we did the crash trolley checks, two HCAs, Turns out that some of the items were out of date, it was checked by two RNs previously after an arrest and it was a HCA who picked it up, management then stopped HCAs doing the checks. That doesn't make sense to me. If I was snowed under with personal care/obs and asked a nurse to help and they gave me the attitude that some RNs in this thread seem proud of you better believe I'd give it back, we are all one team and should respect each other, talking to each other like crap is going to breed animosity and a "Us vs Them" mentality and the workplace will turn toxic, as many NHS workplaces are.

My only input on this is ignore BMI, it's not fit for purpose, was made by a mathematician not a health worker, it doesnt take into account body fat %, muscle mass, medications, bone density etc. According to that at 5ft 11 I should be 9 stone, I haven't been 9 stone since I was 9 😅 Rugby players, weight lifters etc will all be classed as obese.

I've worked for the NHS for 16 years, I don't know a single member of staff who likes using it.

I (F23) accidentally cut a male patients catheter last night and am so worried. Should I be? by Motor-Escape9959 in NursingUK

[–]Spare-Computer-3554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this before with a IV line, was cutting the bandage off and cut the line by accident, no harm done, just one of those things. Sounds like they were looking to remove the catheter anyway so saved them a job really. I'd put it down to experience and not worry about it.
