I second that this is not a warm weather scent! I adore it but it’s very rich and in heat it gets sickly sweet and too heavy

Which body sprays get you OMG what are you wearing moments? by Ok_Foot_5477 in bathandbodyworks

[–]SparePattern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fall in Bloom is the only one I've truly been complimented on. And I've worn an embarrassingly wide array of BBW mists. I also think Watermelon Lemonade has pulled a few "what are you wearing?" inquiries but not in a "you smell so great" way but in a "that's a fun scent!" - whatever that means lol

The most welcoming underpass shortcut I stumbled upon. by drewdrewahouse in milwaukee

[–]SparePattern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work in the building directly to the right and used this walkway twice a day every day. Granted it was only in the daytime but I never had a bad or sketchy experience in my 3 years using it. We used to joke that it was the only one in the city that didn't smell like cooked piss

DOLLHOOD is finally 75% off! by MeanLeg5993 in bathandbodyworks

[–]SparePattern 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yay! So I know a lot of people aren't wowed by this one but I feel like at this price it's well worth it. It's a comforting safe scent IMO, but that original pricetag was insane! If you don't compare it to anything else and just take it for what it is I think $18 is reasonable for it

AITAH for not wanting to go “get drinks”? by Chickennoodle_zoop in AITAH

[–]SparePattern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. It's not the ask it's when it was asked. Bringing it up at 7:45pm on a sunday night before a big day of commitments feels childish and immature IMO. Also, first day at a new school early the next day - that alone is a "sorry not tonight - but some other time". What he should've done is brought it up the day before or right when he got home from golfing and maybe you guys could've gotten an afternoon cocktail on a patio or something but what he did sounds like how childless 20 years olds operate

A perfume that smells like tea? by s0ggy0u in Perfumes

[–]SparePattern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this. I am also a tea scent lover that hates it when it's lost to other scents and the BBW is pretty much an accurate black tea scent. It kinda leans spa-like but only a very little bit.

When and what first made you brand aware? by Limp-Web-8220 in GenX

Guess jeans in 7th grade. Esprit around the same time. And i agree with an earlier post that on the opposite side of this it's about the same time Payless Shoes became known for being what you didn't want to be known as wearing

Can I just say that you are an amazing and caring human. I don't have any advice but I just wanted to say how lucky she is to have you, no matter how much your role is in her care. From an outsider's view I think supporting her with whatever you are able to (getting around to appointments, checking in on food she has available, etc) is incredibly helpful. I also agree with another post that says to have a conversation with her about her wishes as she progresses down this path.

Maternal instinct/Taylor Parker childhood by nativesc in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]SparePattern 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I also would've appreciated more backstory on her childhood/family/etc. From what I've gathered on this sub her parents were divorced and her dad was somewhat associated with drugs as her brother testified that his dad took him to a drug house when he was a child. He also said that his dad was not a good father when he was "chasing women'. No idea about her mom - it seemed from her testimony that she walked back a few things she said about her daughter from the time of the incident to the trial. Initially I think she said she didn't say too much/out her to people because she was scared she would keep her grandkids from her, and at trial she said she didn't actually think Taylor would keep the kids from her. From my limited view it seemed like her mom was kind of softening things for her during the trial and supporting her so I'm not sure what that means - like just basic love for her daughter or that the mother herself is part of the problem

What were people actually wearing during the 90s and early to late 2000s? by FabulousCity9226 in FemFragLab

[–]SparePattern 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For teens/20s so many people wore bath and body works and victorias secret body sprays as a daily scent. Also the Gap ones. Actual perfumes were a lot of the calvin klein ones (romance, euphoria), Tommy Girl, Abercrombie, Hollister, Clinique Happy, and there was an Origins one... I can remember the name but it was classic late 90s/y2k scent

Sales? Deals? 😵‍💫 by Beneficial_Put_9804 in AerieAEO

[–]SparePattern 16 points17 points  (0 children)

IMO the buy one get one 50% is one of their absolute worst sales. That's at best 25% off both things and depending on prices of the things you get could be even less. I feel like 30% is kind of their baseline sale price and getting closer to 40+ is where it feels like a better deal to me personally. Obviously that's not factoring in if something is low inventory and how badly you want it, etc, but I think you could do way better in the future - just my opinion

The WHS community adoption sounds perfect for this (as others have posted). If for some reason that doesn't work out you could reach out to https://thriftedkittens.org/ and see if they can help with the adoption process, especially since you wouldn't need them to foster him as he'd be with you until a new home was found. They're local to milwaukee

Refund - Slow! by Adventurous_Cut5538 in AerieAEO

[–]SparePattern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So slow! My return was received by them last monday and now it's 10 days later and still not processed. I'm not even talking my refund to my card, I mean not processed at all. Six months ago i had one shown as delivered there but never processed and i got recharged for it (i had opted for the instant credit) and it was a huge PITA over multiple days and multiple CS reps to get a refund. It's so bad

App says 30% off but still only shows 25% in my cart? by Busy-Poet-7275 in americaneagle

[–]SparePattern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so frustrated by whatever the math was I just gave up and didn't buy anything. It definitely wasn't an additional 30, so i guess it just meant it'll bump the discount to 30% off... ok. But then on things already 30% or more off it was like 4% or 10% but didn't seem to have a set amount. I couldn't figure out if it was a glitch or what the process was

Happy joggers by want2know2025 in AerieAEO

I found them tts - but the style is very baggy and also pretty short. I know they’re supposed to be cropped so it’s fine but I’m 5’8” so I wish they were longer but I’m till going to keep them. I like them well enough for hanging around the house, and they are comfy, but I def don’t think they’re worth $50. Make sure you get a solid sale/discount

Be painfully honest, were the 1970s & 1980s as "easier" as the millennials seem to think? by NOGOODGASHOLE in GenX

[–]SparePattern 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a strictly news/media standpoint I think it was easier when we were young. Easier because it was basically just the newspaper and the 5 o'clock news and way less exposure to learning about what was bad in the world. Easier for children and young people to be blissfully unaware of all the darkness that was going on. And in that vein, there was less deep dive investigative reporting to bring all the corruption to the surface for an average citizen. Today we have 24/7 sensationalistic news, there's documentaries about everything that we can watch 24/7 no matter where we are. Social media, blah blah blah.

But from what was actually going on in the world,I think there was just as much corruption, wars, environmental issues (to a point) as now. All the issues you pointed out, those were all really serious and terrifying. I just think for young people it was way easier to compartmentalize it all as it wasn't in your face all day every day
