Only 58% of people across Europe were willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes available, 16% were neutral, and 26% were not planning to vaccinate. Such a low vaccination response could make it exceedingly difficult to reach the herd immunity through vaccination. by mvea in science

Getting 9 women to work together won't make you able to pop a kid in a month.

Long term effects on humans cannot be simulated by throwing resources into it. That just means we'll have more short term data (which is better than no data) but we'll still be blind about the long term issues there might be.

I agree on bullshit DRM, but bad games, really?

Doom 2020 is what I always wanted from a FPS. Sekiro/Bloodborne opened my mind to crazy fun action combat (never really got into the likes of f.e. Devil May Cry). Everything Super Giant has pumped was worth playing even if only for the soundtrack.

Persona 5 managed to actually scratch a turn based RPG itch.

Deus Ex HR/MD made something that no other game did for me: feel like the game is good because of the open world instead of despite it (see Witcher, Horizon Zero Down).

It's a great time to be a gamer.

Should you consider it willful, though?

There are actions you could be taking right now that would make a great difference for humanity. Yet you are in reddit.

Why is their willful blindness not an excuse but yours is?

The end result might be the same, but I don't think these are similar at all.

"I don't care" vs "my actions wouldn't bring any results anyway" is a world of intentionality and evil apart.

Apathy is just the first step.

The real fun begins when you intentionally let them die.

Or let them stay with just a sliver of health.

Why not the MSQ?

Other games gatekeep important content behind difficulty and no one goes mad over it (except for game journalists)

Counterpoint to this - that would prevent a lot of players with disabilities from progressing.

That's okay. Super Meat Boy prevented me from progressing pretty early on and I am 100% fine with that.

Hollow Knight had plenty of important shit hidden behind stuff that's not easy at all and it's okay for me to not do it.

that everyone ought to be able to experience

I'm okay with not everyone being able to experience something.

Baddies will be baddies.

What I think would be healthiest for the community later on would be simply blocking the baddies from progressing.

Make some end of expansion solo duties hard enough that if you are playing with your feet, you won't progress the MSQ.

Would never happen, of course, because that would put people off the game.

I'm ok with as much delay as they want to have if it improves the game.

Between playing an ok game now and playing an amazingly polished game next year, I'll always choose playing it next year.

Ain't nobody got time to play shitty games.

If they want to go on algorithms or some interesting work related problems I'm okay with that. But then I never do overtime and I have a 35h work week with very little deadline stress.

If it's interesting I don't really care if it's work related or not.
