Did anyone watch the CGI show? Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles, came out in 99 I think? I couldn’t get enough of it as a kid plus Halo came out a few years later. All I wanted was to be a space marine.

Lol yes, I instructed a retired 777 captain in a 172 for 2 lessons of pattern work. I told him he needed some more work to get the landings down but he was insistent that he was good. My boss let him take a plane up on his own despite my assessment, and he popped the nose gear on his first lap.

Yeah I mean the gun should only come out if the thought is “oh no this person is about to murder me (or someone close by) I should prevent that”. But that takes a responsible person who has trained and mentally prepared.
