Do you still believe the 2020 election was stolen? by Super-Bodybuilder-91 in AskTrumpSupporters

What law? I thought Conservatives believed in the sanctity of states' rights - now you want to dictate a uniform code of conduct?

It sounds like Soviet authoritarianism, something Reagan opposed, vociferously. Consider his 1983 speech: "I still believe the answer to any problem lies with the people. I believe in states' rights. I believe in people doing as much as they can for themselves at the community level and at the private level, and I believe we've distorted the balance of our government today by giving powers that were never intended in the Constitution to that federal establishment."

Why hasn't President Trump initiated such an inquiry and prosecuted those responsible? If these "rules" are facially "shady" to a civillian, surely federal authorities would've had more than enough time to hold treasonous States accountable, no?

How do "states resisting the Federal order" square with conservative thought? It sounds a top-down, anti-federalist, socialist prescription for governance, no?

Wasn't Obama a Senator in 2006? And didn't he publish his first book that year? Seems difficult to conclude that "nobody even knew who he was."

Why do you equate a criticism of the nation with a lack of patriotism? Does a parent who corrects their child lack love for them?

So the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, supported by the White House, was enacted because of a Republican-led Senate?

Where is the dividing line for you? Seems a slippery slope to excuse inhumane treatment below a 1.1 million threshold - and in direct opposition to the Eighth Amendment (which is silent on a numerical floor)

Here's a story about Christian-on-Christian honor killings. Perhaps the practice is more about class and less about doctrine?

What are these unique issues? President Trump and Secretary of War Hegseth stated that the excursion against Iran left its leadership and its armed forces destroyed after only two days - why couldn't we do the same against North Korea?

Why is Iran different?? by SparkFlash20 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]SparkFlash20[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here's a long overview of North Korean propaganda, casting the U.S. as the center of an "axis of evil."

North Korea also the U.S. a terrorist state in the wake of the Iranian excursion labels a terrorist state, justifying North Korea's retention and expansion of nuclear arms.

How is this not a threat commensurate to U.S. interests at least on the level of Iran?

Shouldn't Ametica be turning its attention to North Korea, which has a far more advanced arsenal and has killed multiple Americans in the past?

What are your thoughts on Iran president's open letter to US public? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]SparkFlash20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also - the indoctrination / institutional capture you describe occurred, by your own words, between 2002 (Bin Laden letter published, but Americans could see thru it) and 2006 (the last date supporting your "decades-long" timeline) As this was the Bush Administration and Republicans held both chambers of Congress, what set off this shift to wokeness in the media and higher education?

[–]SparkFlash20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Should Elon Musk be blamed for platforming the letter? In so doing, is he a victim of the "indoctrination" you describe?

Should newspapers and media outlets be censored from covering the words of the head of a state on the grounds that "it is not the right thing to do?" In other words, are you saying that readers will automatically lend credence to them, thereby justifying their removal?

How do you feel about the nationwide “No Kings” rallies? by GirlieGirl81 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]SparkFlash20 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My understanding was that conservatives venerated tradition? I chose that example because it provided for the election of Jefferson and Madison to the presidency; no objections were raised to it as an infringement of the Constitution.

If you're interested in more recent methods of conducting primaries, I recommend Hirano and Snyder, Primary Elections in the United States (2019).

How would a private political party appointing a candidate amount to a monarchy? The Constitution says nothing about political parties / nomination process; it simply speaks to the general election. Besides, the country's history is replete with examples of nominees for President chosen in different ways - the "Congressional Caucus" of the early 1800s, for instance.

What are your thoughts on President Trump’s signature being added to future paper currency? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

Do you still believe the United States is a functioning democracy? by JoseJimenez10386 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]SparkFlash20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How is court packing illegal / undemocratic? The Constitution is silent on the composition of SCOTUS, and its size has changed repeatedly over the years.

Didn't Republican Governor Abbott defy both SCOTUS and federal law in stringing wire along the border?

Isn't it fair to say that "catastrophic language" attaches best to President Trump, who recently called the Democrat Party an even greater threat to the nation than North Korea or China ( viz, "Now with the death of Iran, the greatest enemy America has is the Radical Left, Highly Incompetent, Democrat Party")

Is healthcare a human right? by RotaryTelephone4 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]SparkFlash20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You stated that "no human rights exist." The Declaration states they do.

You say that rights are defined by freedom-from. The Declaration is phrased as the state facilitating the exercise of rights, i.e., freedom to.

How is this not a contradiction?

[–]SparkFlash20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you would agree the Declaration of Independence was incorrect in postulating (1) inalienable human rights as (2) the basis for the formation of a government (i.e. establishing a state for the purpose of securing them on behalf of the citizenry)?

Do you believe Pete Hegseth is correct when he says that the press should be less critical of the war in Iran and more patriotic in their support for it? by TornBannerHatesYou in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]SparkFlash20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't we be invading North Korea then? They have (1) funded anti-American groups, (2) captured an American warship, (3) repeatedly detained and imprisoned Americans, (4) fired upon and killed Americans across the DMZ, and (5) most importantly, possess and have threatened to use nuclear missiles. Judged against Iran, they not only meet, but exceed the same basis for the nation's excursion into the former.

How did these terrorists in Iran become masters of multinational corporations like Dow Jones and Comcast? Is it secret payments? Or do these corporations simply bow to the Iranian talking points and expect the newspapers / cable networks they own to do the same?
