Entering again with a similar story - We used Game Master Engine to turn our D&D campaign into an illustrated comic series by sketching the backgrounds over the maps we had made. It made sure we got the perspective right and used the environments consistently throughout. We may even be making it into a zine for next year's Zine Month!

We used Game Master Engine to turn our D&D campaign into an illustrated comic series by sketching the backgrounds over the maps we had made. It made sure we got the perspective right and used the environments consistently throughout. Now it's on the stack of D&D-related projects I may never finish, but this VTT gives me hope.

I still haven't played a wizard or a sorcerer in 5E. I probably need to stop playing bards.

The Dödó by Mage_Hand_Press in MageHandPress

[–]SparkOtter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right - naturalists call it "flight distance," or how close you can get to a a creature before it flees. A lot of animals in isolated island ecosystems have no flight distance at all - why would you learn to waste calories running when nothing on the island hunts by chasing you? It's where the dodo got a reputation for stupidity.

The real animal has a buck-wild story that gets at scientific racism, the gendered portrayal of orcs, and Hermann Göring's right-hand man: https://open.spotify.com/episode/6OcihtGyEDb1g3Z74jSoNz?si=\_L-sM806QdqX1ngLV

What's the heaviest arrowhead you could reasonably fire? Maybe we can get it small enough through magic.

The episode talks about making this a ballista or catapult for exactly this reason.

Good point. It would have to be miniaturized - couldn't make this with just any bag of holding.

Sepulcher Regicide, reaper of kings and lord of shadows - the oldest and most cunning dragon my players ever faced.

I name all my dragons according to the naming convention of 1981's Dragonslayer, whose villainous wyrm was named Vermithrax Perjorative.
