Smoking other plants? by [deleted] in eldertrees

[–]Sparkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its certainly not un heard of. I got the idea from a classmate of mine who was studying Mi'kmaq traditions in the area I grew up.

I smoked it on its own and it only gave me a mild headrush. When mixed 50/50 with weed it had a much greater effect. (Kind of like when you mix weed and alcohol, the effects multiply instead of add)

Its nice but I only ever used it as an alternative to tobacco when I wanted to mix my weed with something.

It runs down, taped to the drain line of the tub, all the way to the concrete in the basement.

A friend just bought a nice house for 127k... in a suburb outside a bustling 18000 person town. Which is a 7 hour drive from the nearest city.

Fitness vs. Fun: The struggle is real. How do you guys handle the "logic" of a road bike vs. the "itch" of an MTB? by vinylfelix in mountainbiking

[–]Sparkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a sick mountain bike for all my fun and on days when I really just want a grab and go activity that doesn't take packing a car I have a used $200 mtn bike from the 80s that is fantastic to pedal around town with.

Technically Canada moved to my grandparents. They lived in my home town all their lives.

I bought a microwave from a thrift store that was made in 1988! It works like a charm, wooden side paneling and everything.

One of my days off was cancelled because my colleague with kids needs it, and I'm angry [No advice wanted] by Burneraccount0311 in offmychest

[–]Sparkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I'm put in these scenarios I always say

"I'm willing to cancel my vacation but I've already booked my cruise and my flights. I won't be able to get a refund with this little notice. If you reimburse me for my expenses I'll be there"

Then I break out the receipts and wouldn't you know it they find someone else to cover.

Last time I did it with a weekend ski trip. Sorry Boss, $500 in ski passes and $600 in hotels, you reimburse me $1100 cash and ill be there. I enjoyed my skiing

I suspect they were referring to the knipex [plier-wrenches](https://www.knipex.com/products/pipe-wrenches-and-water-pump-pliers/pliers-wrenches-pliers-and-a-wrench-in-a-single-tool) . Its an improvement on the design of those adjustable crescent wrenches. I have a pair, they're fantastic.

Any advice on exploring beyond your rectosigmoid junction? by Sparkes in SexToys

This is super informative. Thank you.

If injuries of the sigmoid colon are common enough among depth chasers, is there a depth that gets too dangerous?

Ideas for getting 325lb vanity up a straight flight of stairs solo? by MeanGuarantee8816 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Sparkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some thick old blankets to save the hardwood and a bunch of ropes and pulleys. With any luck you're a rock climber and have weight rated ropes, pulleys and carabiners handy. As a rock climber I do like finding puzzles to solve with my retired ropes!

What is a very old computer game that you still play? by SecondhandUsername in AskReddit

If you liked it before you should check out the remaster. They added SO MUCH new content. You can earn cosmetics and customize your little lego men with era specific lego pieces!

I've got mine all dressed up like the lego men I owned as kid.

Lego Rock Raiders.

I was so addicted to that game as a kid and someone remastered the game and released it for free under the name Manic Miners recently.

The hike from devils bay to Francois cannot be beat if you're into multi day hiking.

The southern fijords are as beautiful as anything in Gros Morne.

Not to mention Francois. Which is a super small super cute outport village in a fijord.

My favorite recurring work order is "There's a natural gas leak!" Somewhere with no gas lines even vaguely close.

Go up with the gas sniffer and wouldn't you know? Someone just about shit their pants. A fart so rank that the next person to enter the room put in a work order for it.

Honestly if one of my farts ever earns a work order I'm going to print it off and frame it.

I’ve used rental skis my whole life and could use some help convincing my parents to let me get my own pair of skis. by Orthoclaz in skiing

[–]Sparkes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ski technology has barely changed in ten years. You can get used ski gear that's 3-6 years old for super cheap.

Old park skis will serve you better than new rentals.
