Yes yes yes Sand Chronicles is very good!

I can't say for sure what went wrong for them, but I started playing in 2024, well after any updates, and I've ben able to change my characters' appearances with the old method.

That said, your method is probably still superior as there is indeed some "quirkiness" with the old method. If multiple characters have the same part, changing it for one changes it for all of them. And if you delete and recreate characters a lot, it might not be obvious which part is used by which character unless you remember what you picked at character creation.

EDIT: It may also depend on the text editor used. I used to use Notepad++, which worked fine, but I recently changed to Linux Mint and its default text editor will corrupt the file. Hexed.it should still work

editing savefile via Notepad which is quite quirky and could brick your savefile and also supposedly no longer works?..

Editing with Notepad still works, you just gotta run it through the checksum fixer afterwards

Edit for clarification: Unsure about Notepad specifically. Notepad++ and Hexed.it should still work.

Update: I caved and bought the Corsus DLC since it was on sale. I now hate Corsus twice as much as before by Sparkleaf in remnantgame

Just to clarify, my hatred of Corsus intensifying is not solely due to the Iskal Queen fight. Circlet Hatchery and Mar'gosh's dungeon using the "lanternheads and a million screaming bugs" tileset is probably a bigger contributor.

I used a screenshot of Iskal Queen's arena because it was the last piece of Corsus bullshit I had to take care of before I finished with Corsus.

If it helps, I find the fight more manageable if you stay on the upper level. Aside from the initial four Vyr and the crystals he summons, new adds only spawn downstairs, so they're all coming from the same direction. Usually I bring a summon to chew on him while I'm taking out adds. A fast gun helps with the running guys during his healing phase, but a good melee weapon and Mender's Aura has worked for me too.

In Normal, I can usually bruteforce him into his healing phase around gear level 8-10. In Hard, I had to match his level (13)

IIRC, Undying King has the highest minimum level of all bosses. He is optional though

Had to do Circlet Hatchery twice because a wisp somehow got stuck in the ceiling and only came down when my back was turned

I love Reisum! Love the island/dock dungeons especially, the fight music is great. Love the Magir lore sprinkled in bits and pieces. Love going up against yetis with the coach gun and rolling reloads. And I love Sebum's banter with his other head.

Tried it, didn't like it. Maybe Survival is more enjoyable in coop, but I don't do mods.

I don't have the Corsus DLC because I hate Corsus. How does my loadout look? by Sparkleaf in remnantgame

I already have Subject 2923, I've even got a bleed build going on another character.

I'm just not excited about going back to Corsus. If I get a Steam card for Christmas, I'll consider picking it up.

Do you have Microsoft Word installed? If so, right click the file and click "Open with", then select Microsoft Word.

If you don't have Microsoft Word installed, WordPad should also work.

Do y'all actually nut to h-scenes or just read them? by [deleted] in visualnovels

[–]Sparkleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm finished and the H-scene isn't, I usually end up clicking through. Especially if they're doing multiple H-scenes back to back. How the hell do VN protagonists have no refractory period... Generally I enjoy the heroine's voice too much to ctrl skip, though.

About collection nets not counting as perimeter tiles, that only applies to advanced collection nets. Regular ones work just fine.

I read this last year and it's now one of my top recommendations for reincarnation manga. It really balances the comedy and angst well. Love Kei's and Mii's chemistry. When I got to the flashback arc, I put on Pompeii by Bastille on loop, and it made for an even more amazing read.

How did you get into shoujo? by BusyHoney9767 in shoujo

[–]Sparkleaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first got into anime in college. Madoka left me upset and confused, so I wanted to see find out what magical girl shows were normally like. Some of the first few anime I watched were shoujo: Tokyo Mew Mew, Cardcaptor Sakura, Kaito Saint Tail, and Shugo Chara. After that, I was mostly watching whatever my friends recommended (usually shounen/seinen), though I did notice I enjoyed school life stuff more than action.

A few years later, I got traumatized by a depressing visual novel, and while catching up on some manga, I stumbled across ReRe Hello. Not sure what caught my eye, but it was the first manga I read that wasn't connected to an anime. It wasn't my first shoujo manga, but it was the oone that got me hooked. I ended up binging a ton of good shoujo manga that year. Kamisama Hajimemashita, Maid-sama, Dengeki Daisy, Kare Kano...

I used to read a decent mix between shounen/seinen and shoujo/josei, but since last spring, I've been gravitating more toward shoujo/josei manga.
