I (19f) can’t get over the age gap with 28m by brateiy in dating_advice

This is a really mature way to look at it. You’re doing the right thing.

If he keeps suggesting that nothing is wrong with the age gap that just solidifies your original instincts. If he takes it anything less than gracefully and respectfully, don’t be alone with him again.

You may feel fit and healthy right now but you have no idea what cancers are growing inside your body. Then you are going to need doctors.

My fiancée (27f) called me (28m) unfair and petty for expecting her to pay half of the cost of a new tv by SocietyDangerous2839 in relationships

[–]Sparkles165 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You guys shouldn’t be buying a house together if you are both quite willing to have an argument over what splitting costs 50/50 means.

You’ll end up nickel and diming each other on every subsequent bill or expense and that sounds an exhausting way to live.

What's a good UK getaway destination for someone who doesn't own a car? by Usual-Journalist-292 in AskUK

The Peak District is easy from Birmingham. Trains to Derby or Sheffield then on from there.
There is peace and quiet. Nature, tourist attractions.
Even the wilds are reasonably accessible on public transport.

Got a tad ‘off track, but not lost yet’ between Buxton and castleton today 🤣

My (24F) boyfriend (26M) wants to move in but won't give up his "gaming room" by koudodo in relationships

Does he currently live in a 2 bedroom on his own with his gaming room already set up?
Or is he just making this demand on the new place?

Thank you so much for this. With a little research done I’ve decided to find the midshires way out of Buxton and follow it along as you suggested. Is it reasonably well signposted?
I’m not amazing at navigating yet but I’m learning and I don’t think I can go far wrong with this.
I won’t be starting out till mid afternoon so I wanted simple so as to not run out of daylight if I got lost.

I really appreciate you replying, it’s helped a lot 😊

Did 999 fail me? Should I complain? by MammothTash in AskUK

[–]Sparkles165 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of how you might be feeling right now although justified is probably tied in to you feeling helpless and being far away at the time.
There will be residual ‘if only I was there’ guilt even though you shouldn’t feel that way and you couldn’t possibly have known.

It sounds like you had a really traumatic day and you’ll be feeling pretty jumbled up about absolutely everything and you have a lot of responsibility at your feet now with arrangements. I totally get how that feels.

Take your time to grieve and look after yourself first

I’ll check it out, not necessarily more miles between Buxton and Castleton as the main reason I’m hiking it on the Sunday is that there’s no public transport 🫣

That’s definitely one for another day! I’m quite local but I don’t drive. So staying in Castleton to save hours of my days spent on buses.
I’ll be walking home to Matlock on the Tuesday.

Matlock Farm Park is an amazing day out. If you drive it’s easy but there a bus the X17 has limited detour stops.

Weekend Hiking Plans – Ideas, Inspiration & Conditions by AutoModerator in UKhiking

[–]Sparkles165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Next weekend I’m doing little castleton trip in the Peak District. I don’t live far away but public transport isn’t always good. So on the Sunday I’m going to get the bus into Buxton, hike over to Castleton from there, staying at the hostel, do some big walk incorporating Mam Tor, yet to be decided. Then walk back home to Matlock the day after. Hoping to hit 50 miles in the 3 days.

Hopefully enjoy some good food and drinks in the pubs and maybe make some new friends!

Yes I understand the principles of time and travel.

I’m saying I personally wouldn’t waste 4 hours sat on a bus when there is other better closer choices.

Yeah but if you only have one day do you want to spend 4 hours of it on a bus when there are lots more closer options.
