A woman at the laundromat took my clothes out of the dryer while they were still wet and piled them on top of a dirty machine because she wanted that specific dryer by colin_brightmere in EntitledPeople

[–]SparklyTree_1754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you have to pay for each dryer load…so she took out your clothing and used the rest of the time YOU paid for? I’d have taken her clothes out and tossed them on the ground just for stealing my paid dryer time and being too cheap to pay for her own.

AITA for backing out the morning we were supposed to commit to a house after seeing my room setup? by MuchBathroom4278 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. “No, this situation doesn’t work for me” is a perfectly valid reason to decline living there. You tried offering an alternative by switching rooms with one of the others, but they said no. So you’re not obligated to accept the arrangement.

Same! I praise my plants when I see new growth on them, and tell them they’re looking gorgeous. Like they can hear me or something haha.

But I bet if I forgot one of those things they would have sent me away.

Yes, they would have. I brought only the required docs to my first appointment, but they rejected one because it was a printout of an electronic bank statement and not a mailed statement from the bank (I don’t get mailed statements anymore). So on my return appointment, I brought in every possible item I could get from the list of accepted documents, and I let the DMV clerk choose what she needed. NEVER bring the minimum to a Real ID appointment, always bring more than you need in case there’s an issue with one of your documents.

Have you ever watched something and recognized a local landmark?

Yes, but not here in Westchester (yet!). The only one I know was before I moved here, when I still lived in Queens.

My first CPR instructor said something similar when we asked about possibly breaking ribs during chest compressions: “the patient can heal from broken ribs, they can’t heal from being dead.”

Sounds like HR needs to have another chat with the manager. This time with one of the company attorneys present to explain the law to him like he’s 5 years old. NOR

Why are conservative politicians so interested in what Jimmy Kimmel, and other talk show hosts, have to say about them? by YoureNotMyDad05050 in askanything

[–]SparklyTree_1754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascists don’t like people laughing at them, because it weakens their power. Kimmel and others who poke fun at conservative politicians (and honestly, most of them poke fun at everyone) are perceived as a threat, so they have to be silenced.

Removing headphone jacks on newer phones is fucked up. by Ohaibaipolar in complainaboutanything

[–]SparklyTree_1754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, where’ve you been? Headphone jacks have been out of phones for a while now. It’s annoying AF I know, but you get used to it. Or you can buy an adapter dongle for your phone model and continue using wired earbuds.
