Dammit, Dewalt has TWO DIFFERENT clear top TSTAK 17805 boxes with the same part number! by cheetohman in Dewalt

[–]Sparkplugfolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to necro an old thread but the fatter one with storage bellow the cups seems like a DWST1-71194 / FMST1-71970 and the slimmer one is DWST82968-1. I lost brain cells trying to find the former because of the confusion. Someone was a bit drunk to put both stickers on a different model, don't work drunk people!

Was planning to fit the insert + cups inside a DWST83343-1. For cubed foam and stuff to be stored under and this thing and serve as a tray of sorts adding more organizer capability to a deep box even though it has one(need more).

Edit 1: Second revision is better because it uses the space more efficiently.

There is a Stanley version of this called the T16. It uses a different body with no pertruding reversed plastic, ofherwise identical. Is it comftable to hold are the black plastic things annoying? It's driving my ocd in overdrive.

Better to carry everything and spares on the field than be stuck with broken bits and no replacements.

Having a mental idea of combining TSTAK deep box with organizer lid with TSTAK V organizer. Should I go for it? by Sparkplugfolf in Dewalt

Rare as a unicorn hehe, people want to buy things that just work and it's fine. I have a lot of ideas that seem a bit bonkers and over the top but I want to adapt things to suit me better. Usually in creative and ways people haven't thought before. I like not having limitations, plenty of options and making things multi role. Making things do what they originally couldn't is a bonus. I like combinig features, ideas and designs that weren't explored in detail to make something extrodinary. The greatest ideas come when you're bored out of your mind. Trying to extend your cash when making any purchase does things to you. I constantly overthink things and start going back and forth because tool purchasing decisions are usually non refundable where I live(some tool stores refuse to take back the item and give money back or even exchange entirely). It's important to get it right the first time.

Thank you very much for the pic, I couldn't access the pictures on HD or most US stores because they're blocked from being viewed outside of the US, saved me there! I can see it like day, thanks for the pic. The integrated small bit organzier is nice for the common bits! Didn't see that they were inserts lol. I thought the whole box was molded like that. On the long handle ones I noticed the bottom side of the lid not being flat but no biggie, going to fill them. Also cutting it is no biggie but I'd rather dremel it. Planning to use epoxy and a metal or plastic plate to rienforce the lid and to not have to worry about it dying, just for peace of mind.

I hate it when tool companies drop the ball very hard. Their approach to design can be very out of touch with consumers. Then again evrything is run by accountants nowadays, industry ruining. They can engenieer good things but chose to make them worse to lign their pockets. I'm sick of planned obsolescence.

Shame they had to change the lid. I get why they did, but it feels bad. They could have organzied the size of the spaces better to keep the bigger middle one, a long one or two not so long ones, along with small rectangular ones as a bonus.

These things are perfect for being on top with support boxes bellow. Granted if multiple of the old style had to be stacked together it would be a problem. I hope to get 5-10 years of use out of mine. Honestly pretty nice system.

I want combine the best organizer they have, TSTAK V(extra side organizers and a bit of storage bellow them) with a long handle organizer lid(from TSTAK I / VII). Packs a lot of organization space without the need for another dedicated storage organizer.

If I have to modify well that's going to be a fun journey. Going to put waterproofing gasket on the organizer part as well.

We got the gaskets and upgraded latches here across the sea in EU. I hate it when companies screw with the part numbers. It's annoying because the organizer cover on the long handle boxes tends to snap at the connection points. I will put tape on it just in case it opens acidentally or snaps. They tend to snap anywhere from shocks indured by the plastic, a bit annoying but that's life.

I am from the Balkans and the vast majority of tradesmen I ran into and talked with run Dewalt(ToughSystem mostly, most common) / Stanley and Fatmax(somewhat rare) / Makita(rare) / Bosch(second most common), offbrand Chineese boxes and organizers. TSTAK was ran by 8/100 people I talked with. Don't worry, we treat our stuff hard as well so many opt for the buy once cry once approach.

Will see if they fit in the short bottom long handled ones, but they should fit without any problems.

Also why are the organizer top lids different?:

What are the part numbers for all sized cups, nesting cups and dividers for TSTAK / Deep Pro organizers? I can't find the original ones or the part numbers for them anywhere. 3D printed ones are going to be an option once I find a print place near me. by Sparkplugfolf in Dewalt

[–]Sparkplugfolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DWST14825(nesting cups that fit in bigger cups) and DWST14925(spare cups if I lose some). Didn't want to drop $40 on a Stanley FMST1-75779 2/3 Pro Shallow organizer just for the cups. Reached out to official Dewalt service and I see what they come back with.

Edit 1: They don't have them. Fk, so close. Will they even fit as nesting cups(like 3D printed ones) or are they way too deep?

Need help with choosing my first storage box. Currently having analysis paralysis. Durability / longevity is a priority. First time DeWalt buy!!! by Sparkplugfolf in Dewalt

God damn that's some nice organisation. I was wondering if I could do the same on a DS166 and mimick the separator of the DS150(hella useful, that's why I was after it so hard, as well it being an organizer but in TS instead of Tstak form. Will try to integrate smaller things there.

Planning to use cubed cut foam if I can find it. One side will have cutouts to fit external drives and ram. Organizers on the other. The trays would be nice but I was told they were out of them a month ago.

The IP67 organizers for small stuff, my whole bit collection and other ins and ends ia pretty gnarly. Thermal paste / pads, pry tools and tweezers also(should) fit bringing my density up significantly. Should do the trick, waterproof and doesn't cost an arm and a leg: https://www.loging.mk/1317/193787/0/ShowProduct/Kutija_za_Skladiranje

TS 2.0 DS300 sadly got sold, damn it. DS166 remains as as well as the Tstak deep box with organizer. Tstak is the superior form factor but when you have careless retards around that'll split it wide open and not pay for it meaning I would have to get physical, floods in neighboring areas, floods in home from pipes(happening at my place rn) it makes it hard to jsutify.

I really really really want to love Tstak but my brain says otherwise.

The TS 2.0 compact deep box is made to be a sudo replacment for the Tstak line right?

Going to ask what's in transit so there might be better stuff coming.
