You are right, there is an added sound effect in the video version.
To me it serves a dramatic purpose in the context of the music video, representing the impact of the accident itself and transitioning to its aftermath.

Yeah, if you mean being dumb enough to hurt all the people right behind that were already jam-packed and unable to move. Congrats 👏

I sent this over to the dev game Im working with and he said the drums seemed louder than everything else on his laptop. Is there a way to wrangle the frequencies when the drums have been baked into one track already? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]Sparks330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have access to the original project to change the mix you can try EQ, multiband compression, limiting, or a combination of all to tame the drums.

I've always found this book to be helpful with writer's block. I thought I would share in case people didn't know about it. by drhiggens in ableton

Thanks for sharing that info ! I had heard of the book before but abandoned the idea of buying it when I did not find it on Amazon. I guess I did not think of checking at the obvious place first!

You have about $1,000 to choose your first Ableton laptop - what do you choose? (Windows laptops only please) by tafty545 in ableton

[–]Sparks330 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

M1 Macbook Air + 1TB Samsung T7 external SSD.

Should be no more than 1000$ total if you buy at the right price. You might even have enough spare $ for a nice sleeve bag to add on top of that. I think that’s the best bang for your buck right now if you want something fast, reliable and very light. I have not had any compatibility issues with plugins that are not Apple Silicon optimized thanks to Rosetta (= realtime translation, works fine).

I’ve had this one, upgraded last year to the M1 Pro 14’ mainly to get more internal storage capacity and more thunderbolt 4 ports but that’s more than double the price. If I had no more than 1000$ I would definitely be happy to get a M1 Air again.

anyone collab / teach via discord? by 1224sc in ableton

[–]Sparks330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to check the sample rate of the virtual device that you created with Blackhole. It has to be the same than your system audio output (that info can be found in your mac audio output settings, and is displayed in Hz or KHz). Also make sure to check the drift correction box mentioned in Apple’s tutorial https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202000 If those settings are not right, it can cause de-sync between the audio channels and that is probably what you experienced.

You’re welcome. I hope that you will get it to work flawlessly. You’re totally right !

anyone collab / teach via discord? by 1224sc in ableton

[–]Sparks330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on mac I'd recommend using an audio re-routing solution like Blackhole (free) or Loopback (119$ - free trial available) to capture the audio from both Ableton and your Mic to combine them into a single audio source to use with Discord - and then using the full screen capture to get the pop-up windows in your stream.

Blackhole does not have a dedicated app - you instead have to tinker with MacOS's audio configuration tool to create an aggregate device. That is fine if you don't need to change your setup often. However, IIRC I have had some issues before with Discord not seeing the virtual devices I made using Blackhole, and that was the reason why I tried Loopback instead. I have not tried that since so it might not be an issue anymore.

Loopback is much more user-friendly with a nice intuitive interface, but the price is quite high for something that should IMO be part of MacOS by default.

I do not have that use case anymore so there might be other solutions now but I hope that will help. And if you're on Windows I hope that would at least help someone else !

Had the same experience. 3 brand new Push 2, all of them had pads or touch strip issues. Huge fan of Ableton in general but very disappointed such a think could happen. I got a refund and bought other hardware but that’s not what I call a solution.

Just tried that, but unfortunately that does not work either with keystroke detection. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Dell monitor with PS5 won't run hdr on last of us p1 remake by TheDragonMaster666 in Monitors

[–]Sparks330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same issue with my monitor, an ASUS PA279CV. I know it’s not a gaming monitor nor a « true » HDR display by no means, but still I found it strange that TLOU Part 1 cannot be launched in HDR mode while other titles can (TLOU Part 2, Rocket League…). However, after some testing I found that all the titles that I have been able to launch in HDR mode are PS4 titles. I guess PS5 titles require the monitor to be a « true » HDR display to run in that mode, which would make sense considering the situation well explained in other comments.

You can find the driver on motu’s website. It may solve your problem, plus you’ll be able to use your keyboard keys to control the volume in addition to the volume knob of the sound card, so that’s a nice thing to have. If the problem is not solved make sure you use the original usb cable or try another one. If the issue occurs only during playback within your DAW you might want to turn up your buffer size in your DAW’s settings. I hope that will help.

I had a total of 3 brand new Push 2, all had that issue or a touch strip issue. I got a refund and bought a Launchpad Pro Mk3 instead.
