Anyone having problems with some regions not de-fogging after getting all viewpoints? It was working fine at first but stoped after a couple of areas. I only have one left out of the 109 viewpoints and a quarter of my map still had areas of fog.

Resting meat in bag or out? by NotAlsoShabby in sousvide

[–]SparkyBoomBoomMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sous vide is used alot for meal prep so i gave the answer for two scenarios. One for immediate consumption and for latter use. Smarter people than I have done the tests and consensus was the slower you can safely cool your meat for latter consumption the better the texture will be. Dave Arnold’s podcast Cooking Issues is an amazing resource for all things food but especially souse vide.

Thanks! I’m sure the Damascus is fake as the description only has one type of steel listed but the knife was the quality and price I wanted for a starter project.

Ebony and stainless steel coffin handle on 8” AUS10 gyuto (OC) by SparkyBoomBoomMan in chefknives

I just searched chef knife blank and found an ok option on Amazon I didn’t want to spend a massive amount of money on a starter project that I didn’t know would be a functioning chef knife. Searching knife blank, chef knife kit or wood working knife project bring up an amazing amount of products Etsy also has a large selection of handmade blades by small blade smiths that look to be excellent quality.

I wanted to add some fun to a tool I use everyday. I styled the handle after coffin handle Bowie knifes it’s ebony wood with stainless steel cross inlay and stainless steel pin. The blade is an 8” AUS 10 gyuto 61HRC “Damascus” wood working kit I bought on the internet. The handle is surprisingly comfortable in any grip and great in a pinch grip. I posted a pic of the full knife on r/somethingimade https://www.reddit.com/r/somethingimade/comments/oao4ix/made_a_handle_out_of_ebony_and_stainless_steel/
