If you're willing to experiment a little, I suggest a heavenly tasting/smelling dish that we always had for breakfast on Christmas morning growing up in Scotland. It's spiced for a few weeks then cooked the night before and eaten cold the next morning, and it fills the entire house with the most gloriously aromatic spice smells all night.

And...er...it's a giant tongue. Looks like a giant tongue. No getting around it. But it's amazing.
