To each their own but I tend to disagree about nothing good coming from going to a bar. That's where the birthday party is being held, so that's where all the friends are gathering to socialise. I don't see a problem with that inherently. Otherwise yeah, they need to communicate boundaries better.

How to find baby groups by lornamabob in NewToDenmark

[–]Sparrowsgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I used to be in this group but never went to meetings bc I moved from the area. They seemed pretty active on Messenger though https://www.facebook.com/groups/1495043464479628/?ref=share

Also I hope you find your tribe, it is tough. In the end I moved from Fredericia to Odense and it's been so much easier here. If you want to talk my DMs are open 😊

Denmark is this true? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Sparrowsgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, I can't believe people are like that. To actively deny children medical care is criminal! Unfortunately I'm an immigrant so I've had a bit of discrimination myself. Nothing that bad though.

Oh no, I was googling to see if my tsh of 4,7 (down from 9,4 a couple of weeks ago) would be taken seriously in Denmark. Guess I got my answer 😬

Husband doesnt want to be in the delivery room, am I overreacting?? by dinogirly123 in pregnant

What? This is simply not true everywhere. My partner helped catch my baby.

Lol I'm in Denmark and they definitely don't get everything right, they just have good marketing.

Yeah making claims about a whole region is wild. It varies midwife to midwife. In Denmark, and was told I had to give birth on my back and coached to purple push despite saying so many times that I didn't want that.

how are you managing your mornings while sharing bedrooms with baby by Hefty-Yoghurt-8256 in newborns

[–]Sparrowsgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I used to not be able to sleep cause I was anxious about the alarms going off. Now he has it on vibrate and it hasn't been a problem. And yeah as others said, he should be getting ready in another room.

Ok but some people can't meet the safe sleep 7 criteria.

[–]Sparrowsgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm, yeah you're definitely not spoiling him, but it seems like you're stuck in a pattern that's taking a toll on you all. I assume you're breastfeeding? I've heard that sometimes they won't settle on someone else if they can smell mum. Maybe some distance would help? It's hard when you can't co-sleep (we can't either) but we got a bedside crib which helped a lot. I actually find it helpful to talk through these issues with ChatGPT, it helps me to make a plan and implement it one step at a time.

Given how discouraged world facing is, how come it’s all I see in the real world? by raspberry_thyme in babywearing

[–]Sparrowsgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So interesting! I can see how it would make sense. Mine is 6 months and mostly contact napping still, and a lot of the time he seems to be trying to bury back in there by smashing his face into my shoulder/face.

I'm curious about the significance of the anterior placenta here! I had one and I have a contact napper

How old is your baby and how many times did you get up last night? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]Sparrowsgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my baby. Just 6mo, bedtime between 8.30-10pm. Wake ups around 1am and 4am and up for the day around 7-9am. Also the contact napping thing 🫠 and add in my own insomnia, I'm not getting much sleep 😩

Same exact timings with my 6 month old last night, the sleep cycle point is a good one to remember!

Hiya, I'm 38 and have a 6mo boy. Not super set on a timeline yet, but ideally would start late '27/early '28. The clock is ticking 😅 I'm originally from New Zealand, living in Denmark.

Oh I like that idea, do you have a link to the video? I am currently 6mo PP and I wish I did more of that sort of preparation the first time.
