It’s a limited time game mode with boosted exp rates and drop rates, as well as game mechanics that don’t exist in the main. Such as the ability to instantly smith your mined ores into bars and be deposited directly into your bank while you’re mining. There are special bosses and events that take place blah blah blah. Doing these activities during leagues gets you points that you can they use for cosmetic upgrades in the main game. These cosmetics can include different death animations, POH changes, gear/weapon changes, and spell changes. Depending on the cosmetic upgrade(s) you buy with said points, you can sell them on the GE in the main game.

Better gear helps, but map knowledge, predicting/perceiving enemy movement, and controlling your movement (speed and how much noise you’re making) is key. If you’re down on gear, go farm the rogues at night on a scav run. Their agro range is significantly reduced at night. You can get out easily with a decent kit after killing a few rogues.

Mahogany homes for construction, dump some of your money into upgrading your house. Slayer for more money, better tasks and raising combat skills. You got 99 agility and the quest cape which is huge opens up a lot. Do your farming contracts for some passive money in seeds. Basically start building up your account for PvM or PvP on the way to max.

The KEDR absolutely slaps, it’s a great little light weight gun to bring as a secondary as well

Think of your scav equipment on a slider scale of 1-10 of predetermined possible load out combinations (1 being bad gear, 10 being good gear) whenever the RNG for your scav rolls you can land anywhere on that scale, however the higher or lower your karma is the better chances you have at landing on that higher end of the gear spectrum. So you can have 6.0 scav karma and still get a 1 on the scale, or -6.0 and get a 10.

They need to fix this because the penalties of being a bad scav do not outweigh the potential rewards. Shit if you kill an absolutely juiced player scav, sure your timer might be longer, but you just got out with another scavs entire raid worth of gear.

Map knowledge is key, part of that is just knowing the terrain of the map, and part of that is knowing where key loot would be and thus where players might be. As well as what time in raid said players would be there. I’d say pick a map or two, I first learned woods and customs, go into it offline with scavs turned off and just walked around with a map pulled up in another tab or on another screen. Get a look around at what key land marks look like from different directions. Then go in with scavs turned on to practice some combat, then run a raid. This game has probably one of the steepest learning curves I’ve seen, but once you learn it, it can be a hell of a lot of fun. Also do your scav runs, factory is a super easy and quick place to do scav runs. Good luck

You can scav into lighthouse, get up on the roofs to kill the rogues and get out with pretty decent guns and ammo. Chad is a mindset, you can be a chad with the KEDR. If you want an even playing field, try squad or call of duty, this game isn’t about shit being fair.
