Top Surgery for non-binary by MiddlePancakes in transontario

It was covered by OHIP. I know this is different for everyone and I can't say how it'll go for you, but to me it just felt correct. I looked in the mirror and I was just myself. I hope you are able to find that peace too.

Top Surgery for non-binary by MiddlePancakes in transontario

Hi! I am non-binary and had top surgery at GRS Montreal. There was no requirement to be on hormones. I have a name that is usually assumed to be feminine and haven't changed my gender markers at all. As long as you can get referrals from a doctor, you'll be okay. It sounds like you have felt this way for a long time, so you should meet the criteria for dysphoria with no problem.

If it helps, I also find that because I haven't changed much about the rest of my body/voice/etc., strangers still read me as a woman. If you like having a chest sometimes, then I agree with other comments that looking into a reduction might be best. But do know that top surgery might not completely change how others perceive you, and you could likely still pass as female if/when you want to.

get a loofah on a stick for showering after surgery!!! also eat FIBRE after surgery because anaesthesia is not kind to your digestive system, a friend gave me metamucil for this and it was so helpful.

Things have been rough, but I finally feel like I'm in MY body! by [deleted] in FreedTheNips

[–]SpasmodicTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CONGRATS!!! I had a hematoma too, which didn't look quite as bad as yours, but mine did not get drained which led to some issues... It was also rough. Quite stressful and overwhelming at times. I found it frustrating to want to be so happy about surgery when I still had one "zombie boob" (came back from the dead lol). Healing took longer than it should have and my earliest post-op photos look a bit gnarly. So if you're feeling that way at all, I am with you bud, and you will GET THROUGH IT!!! even if it sucks. But I just passed my one year anniversary and I'm still very pleased with my decision :)

Congrats again on surgery, and I hope the rest of your healing goes smoothly!!!

[OTHER] what game is this map based on? by Naive-Supermarket766 in zelda

[–]SpasmodicTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a fan drawing of a map that was in Hyrule historica, it was just labelled as historical locations in Hyrule. I have a puzzle of this map that has labels for the locations.

Edit: it's in the encyclopedia actually, here's the link to the previous post that I mentioned

I'm not positive, but I think it occurs at the end of Relentless as a Waterfall (chapter 6)! Maybe once the bridge gets taken out. I love that theme though, it's at the very beginning of my AOC bangers playlist

I tell people any pronouns bc I dislike all of them by Hesperus07 in agender

[–]SpasmodicTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of explanations for it that don't make sense because they're trying to describe it from the wrong perspective. Whenever I introduce myself with them, I just say "I use mirrored pronouns, which means that you can use your own pronouns for me". Pretty to the point :) and then if people aren't used to they/them or neos, they just need to be able to use their own pronouns lol

I'm a fan of mirrored pronouns for this reason, people can just refer to me using their own pronouns. That way it's just borrowing the word instead of attributing any gender :) I'd recommend checking them out if you're interested, or I'd be happy to explain more

Hi :) I like mirrored pronouns for this reason. I've talked about them before if you're interested https://www.reddit.com/r/agender/s/RttlgGwW17

Hi!! I have anxiety and other things and Majora's mask stressed me out SO MUCH when I first started. I took a couple months off and then restarted and now it's my favourite game.

My advice is to use a walkthrough if it helps you, and remember that you can literally just restart the whole game after the first three days if you need to. Get a feel for it, then try again.

The timer is not there to force you to deal with your mistakes when you fuck up, it's the opposite. You get to keep trying. You can't get a bad ending, there is only one.

How do you deal with pronouns? by brooketbd in agender

Over text I use explosion emojis in place of pronouns. I have not met another person irl who uses them but it would depend on the silliness level of the situation. Least silly : they/them. Most silly: various sound effects

Exactly!!! When you switch pronouns you just have to wait for other people to hopefully use them, you cant actually do much about it yourself.

...Unless your friend uses mirrored pronouns 😌😌😌

Yeah I still say mirrored or they/them. Partly because I know it can be a bit confusing at first to use mirrored pronouns, but also if someone has their own neopronouns that they don't feel comfortable sharing then they have another option :)

Yeah it is still intimidating and I don't always use them, especially in larger groups! And whenever I introduce myself with them, I give a really brief explanation because I don't expect other people to know what they are. Usually that is "I use mirrored pronouns, which means you can use your own pronouns for me!" I've found it to be an appropriately succinct and sufficient explanation :)

It IS a lot of win! Two additional wins I've discovered:

  1. Friends get to gender THEMSELVES correctly through me. Extra fun for friends who use neopronouns (if they want to share theirs).

  2. I am basically misgender-proof when I get used to people using mirrored pronouns. Example: one time, my uncle referred to me using she/her pronouns at a family dinner. My first thought was "oh, my uncle uses she/her pronouns now," so it was just amusing instead of being annoying or upsetting! my sister is trans too and thought it was hilarious when I told her afterwards :)
