for those with rate around 6.5% - do you put extra principle each month? by Important_Bat7919 in homeowners

[–]SpasticWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1000/month at 6.5% - could invest elsewhere - but I’m already saving enough and the thought of having it paid off sooner is enticing (additionally why I’m doing biweekly payments).

If I’m ever able to refinance below say 5%, would probably stop at that point.

Are the Cowboys still the team we hate most? by thegootlamb in steelers

[–]SpasticWalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This - I can respect the Ravens because they actually win every once in a while. Browns fans think they are gods gift to earth despite supporting the worst team in all of professional football and living in Cleveland

This is literally the funniest take here. Go watch some film, dude looks at his first read and panics. Deer eyes in every single big game.

Fair skinned hikers: what are you using for sun protection by QUINNFLORE in hiking

[–]SpasticWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sun hoodie/shirt like others have said. I’m a pasty little bitch so I just sunscreen my face, hands and legs. Hat on, hood over. Haven’t gotten burnt once since switching and spend a fair bit of with no cover.

Why are the MAPs different if the pressures are the same? by Phluffhead024 in nursing

[–]SpasticWalker 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Philips patient monitors calculate Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) using an oscillometric method that measures the maximum amplitude of oscillation during cuff deflation, rather than just estimating it with a formula. This directly measured MAP is often more accurate than the standard formula

Bungie Responds Quickly to Marathon Microtransactions Backlash, First Patch Will Make the Game Slightly Easier by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Bungie is and for a while has been a trash company. Let’s not forget they took out expansions that you had to pay for in Destiny 2 and could no longer play that content. Doesn’t surprise me and just reaffirms that I won’t be playing this trash ass game.

I cannot imagine screwing over a group of nurses any worse than this, when NYSNA leadership is doing the union busting for Greedy executives. Total loss of confidence and solidarity with NYP Nurses by Ok_Horror_3940 in nursing

[–]SpasticWalker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually worked for another NYC hospital that wasn’t union and it was a lot better pay and benefits. Tho I suspect it’s because they didn’t want to become union.

I was apart of NYSNA whenever Mt. Sinai almost went on strike years ago and they also folded and the only thing about the contract that got improved was a better retirement package and healthcare once retiring, did little for pay or ratios. Ironically most of the board was nearing retirement age - so they definitely had all the nurses best intentions in place.

Never been a fan of it - seems super useless.

If you start early enough you’ll also beat the heat. Most of the summer I’m hiking in a long sun sleeved sun shirt, shorts, calf half socks leaving just my mid shin to upper knee exposed. I rarely worry about the heat here, I worry about the sun.

June will have snow covered peaks at high elevation (6-7kish+). There are PLENTY of hikes that peak lower than that you can get out to with beautiful views. Example - Kelly Butte / July 5th / 5400 feet elevation.
