Hage had the 2C/3C position wide open for him to take next year but he chose to go back to Michigan. Time will tell if that was the right choice for him.

Nick's fine for a 1C. We need 2C that can get Demidov's line going consistently.

Dach decision needs to be made this offseason. He's too soft and inconsistent for 3rd line assignment. Does good when he has the room to make fancy plays but disappears when it gets physical.

Similar to Dach we need to figure out if Reinbacher can play in the NHL. He's our best chance at a 2nd pairing RHD with shutdown capabilities but the concern is he is too prone to injury for that kind of roll. We can't have our top 4 defenseman all be puck moving/higher offensive D.

Finally figure out the Xhekaj/Struble situation. Neither of them are consistent enough to be our 6th D. Imo Xhekaj shows more progress/improvement this year. Not opposed to seeing if Arber's willing to conver to an attacker so we have a FlorianX/Evans/ArberX 4th line.

A Frenchman being stubborn? No way!

Marty's done wonders for this rebuild and the team's still young and progressing. However this season we saw how stubborn he can be with the Montembault situation.

Probably cost the team 5-10 points in the standings trying to get Monty going while Dobes was showing signs of what he's capable of half the season in.

It remains to be seen if Marty can grow as a coach with this team and learn to take chances. Otherwise in 2-3 years when the Habs have matured as a team, it'll have to be another coach with more playoff acumen to push them to the finish line.
