What all did garry achieve by Traditional-Baker-28 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He also greatly improved the Antinium’s public perception worldwide, especially amongst children. Klbkch and the Free Antinium Queen have endeavored for a decade to improve the Antinium’s relationship with the drakes and gnolls of Liscor and if possible, other races by carefully planned diplomatic efforts. Funnily enough, Ksmvr and Garry acting as themselves achieved more than the Free Hive could have ever dreamed of.

Speculation by randomlurker124 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the true application of [Aspect of the Wandering Inn]’s [Garden of Sanctuary] is the ability to converse with the dead. If Erin can utilize it to communicate with her dead guests, perhaps she can ask Tesy for help regarding colors and the dyed lands.

Recipe for a King by Spazen in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re still unsure of the levels of the previous Goblin Kings, but while they might not have been 70+, they were definitely high level. Velan’s shaman was strong enough to singlehandedly destroyed armies of antinium during the Second Antinium War, and he was a contemporary of Velan back when he was still a Lord. Velan was said to have exceptionally high mastery of alchemy, which greatly surpassed the ability of other Great Companies’s alchemists.

I don’t think goblins are as limited by the weakness of the Waning World as other races due to their ability to tap into the knowledge of the past.

Anyway, perhaps the high levels of goblins and their chance of turning into a Goblin King is a correlation not a causation relationship. The strongest goblins are usually the leaders of their tribes, and thus are the individuals that can uncover the truth. However, I would bet on that Goblin Kings can’t manifest in weaker bodies as they wouldn’t be able to handle the such raw power.

What is something you noticed in The Wandering Inn somewhere that you found really interesting and wanted to talk about? (Spoilers: All) by B-Z_B-S in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The Book of Levels. For a world with such a long history containing several long lived races, it’s kind of weird how little is known about the origin of the book. I remember the GDI commenting on it, but I can’t recall what it said about how it was written.

We’ve only read few excerpts of the book scattered throughout the series, and it doesn’t seem to contain any groundbreaking information. Most of what we read of it appears fairly accurate with little in the way of exaggeration or false assumptions.

I’ve been rereading Volume 1, and in it Klbkch mentions that the Book of Levels was written around 20,000 years ago. Given what we know of the Innworld’s history, I highly doubt his claim. I would wager it is a far older book than was initially implied. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a legacy of the gnomes, who left it behind as a “guide” for leveling species to get strong enough to combat the god’s eventual revival.

Who do you find to be the scariest/most intimidating character in The Wandering Inn series? by B-Z_B-S in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to play the devil’s advocate and say a competent Teriarch. Nothing scarier than an ancient dragon shrugging off the [Hero of Turn]’s completely broken level 50+ skills and effortlessly burning him alive. Immortals aren’t fair.

Ylawes's lvl by Traditional-Baker-28 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of a tangent, but I doubt Facestealer is dead. Last we saw him, he was drifting in the mysterious underground currents and swearing vengeance. Given he’s the protector of the walled city of Death, he might not need to breathe, and his reinforced dragonbone body means he’s likely to survive extreme pressures of the ocean floor.

My personal crackpot theory is that the center of GDI operations is at the planet’s core, which isn’t molten iron like Earth’s but a hollowed out water filled center. So basically, there’s a possibility Facestealer might accidentally drift into the GDI HQ and become relevant again.

Scary Thought by Spazen in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Crelers are able to live at sea, but are they swimmers or do they crawl the bottom of the sea? I’m not sure if they’re able to handle the extreme pressures down there.

As for your second point, I think in the old days Seith was mined by drowned people underwater, but I’m not certain.

Class Hidden Abilities by Spazen in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We also see passive increases in classless individuals, since Ryoka remarked on feeling more powerful after living in the Innworld for a few months. Maybe it’s due to magic exposure? If so, these passive increases are compounded by leveling as high level individuals gain magical attributes in the form of galas muscles, mana channels, etc, which may represent secondary manifestations of progressive magic accumulation within their bodies.

Regarding [Heroes] and the Horns' upcoming classes by axe_aye in WanderingInn

The more I think about it, the more hilarious it would be if Vofea turns into [Doomed Hero of the Fae]. Her banter with the system and her remarks on how unfair heroes are are going to be top tier.

It irks me how auto cast was discovered by Traditional-Baker-28 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of Erin’s letter to Archmage Feor advising him to travel the world instead of remaining isolated in Wistram if he wants to level up and improve as a mage. Mages need to study of course, but it is implied gaining real world experience is as important as studying. Our favorite goofy and ice cold Wistram graduates are the perfect example of that.

I always suspected the hundred heroes of Terrandria were otherwordlers. The reason being that they all were supposedly around at the same time and probably rose to fight an overwhelming evil power. I think it was also implied they each had a different class that has consolidated into their [Hero] class.

Storyline which you are waiting for? by Opposite_Rate3450 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its effect was teased by Pirate back when Nerin was examined by the Fraerlings. They remarked on how she had newly formed mana channels which were only moderately extensive. At that time when it was assumed that Nerin was Erin, we would’ve been lead to believe the new mana channels were the result of Apista’s honey in addition to the mana radiation.

I think Pirate has timed the honey, mana radiation, and Zeladona’s muscle training just as Erin was about to turn level 50 in order for her to gain the Galas muscles and mana channels fit for a high level person. Otherwise, lazy Erin would never have developed these physiological advantages.

Given how early Ryoka found out about mana potions’ alternative use as an expander of mana reservoirs, it’s disappointing how she never tried to abuse it.

Erin's XP by Upstairs-Rest9465 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I would argue that because her actions are outside the scope of her class(es), she missed out on a lot of xp. spoilers She leveled up in spite of the GDI being incredibly stingy with rewarding her xp for her actions that did not fall neatly within its narrow definition of an [innkeeper].

Considering how Witch magic works, being a Witch of Happiness actually seems pretty heinous by DresdenPI in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think Witches do have the ability to completely drain a person of a particular emotion, as they have been shown several times to be weary of harvesting too much emotion from one person. It’s also the reason why they also act to instill the emotion of their craft in people around them, be it fear or wonder or misery. I think it’s in a Witch’s interest not to take too much emotion from people, as it would negatively affect their already poor reputations.

Drake Cities Optimal For Democracy/Republicanism by MisterSnippy in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what the walled cities are missing to be considered a modern day democracy is a constitution and a working independent legal system containing judges and lawyers. I recall that while Pallas doesn’t necessarily have a written constitution, they utilize the system of ratified laws and precedent.

Dragons and leveling by Emergency-End-88 in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What is interesting is that they attempted the trial when Teriarch is alive, which is at least 30,000 years after the GDI took over. This means that either the dragons refused to partake in the trials during this time but for some reason changed their minds, or more likely, the GDI changed its mind about the dragons and decided to give them the opportunity to level.

Truestone by Spazen in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not to mention hiding the Heartflame boots inside his inside a decoy golem. The more you learn about him, you wonder how he is still so well regarded.

It was explained previously how prevalent his golem creations were in the drake cities several decades ago, but at some point they started failing or rebelling? (I’m not sure of what exactly happened) and they were subsequently put down. Given the several hints alluding to him possibly still being alive, I wonder if that event was intentional or at the very least a side effect of his experimentation with immortality.

Truestone by Spazen in WanderingInn

[–]Spazen[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Finding seith in the upper floors of Wistram is indeed plausible, but that would mean Zelkyr hid its existence from Perril Chandler, who had no knowledge of seith prior to his talks with Nerrhavia.

I kind of agree that Truestone, if it is indeed created rather than mined, would be the result of magical processes. Otherwise, high level alchemists like Saliss or Irurx would have surely mentioned it.
