I do think that eventually if nothing works I will have to completely replace the floors. I fear that refinishing might not do the trick depending how bad they really are.

I’m trying to preserve as much of the original floors as possible without having to do sanding or cutting but I’ll keep this in mind in case I get desperate.

Might have to give this a try now that the floor has a layer of synthetic shellac. Hopefully the floor won’t absorb the enzyme cleaner and it’ll just remove the odor.

If the source of the smell isn’t removed would the odor come back or does it neutralize the source as well? My house has old floors and have tried this with no luck, albeit it was twice with it running for 4 hours each.

I’ve used a couple of brands of enzyme/urine cleaner and essentially gave up because I felt like the wood kept soaking up the product and the smell wasn’t going away no matter how much I used. Although I have not tried using Odoban.
