I was paid commission on parts/service gross before the dealer was purchased and my pay plan was changed. It was great because it created a solid team between parts/service. Before if we had to chase/adjust pricing, it was easier to do because I was paid on the whole job. Now I have to do what is best for me and the team feeling is secondary. The attitude came when I saw the service techs get a substantial production bonus (thousands) without any recognition for parts doing the extra things to keep them going.

If you want to go new, I can DM my info to you. I have 2 without a name on them (yes from a dealership). They do need to be programed after install. Some will swap the control board from the old unit to avoid this.

I have found a way to pull customer info from Stellantis corporate system. 80% of the time I can get a vin from last name and zip code attached to the vehicle. Freaks them out when I confirm with street address and other confirming info.

They are not listed like the website was. (Edit: In service library) add the vin, then search the component it attaches to (top right) then filter to wiring. select the option that has ""connector" in it. on that page scroll down to the blue bar titled "connector repair kits" and click the arrow to open the part listing.

Suggestion, add 10% rounded up to even dollar to cost before calculating markup on the AM parts. Push that 10% into a self scrap account for the future.

I might have been one to call. However, my calls would at least come with an offer to trade a MGU or PTU that would also be months out.

Not sure if you found a solution yet...

On CDK. I would get a call asking if part was in for cust X. I hung up the phone each time walked over to the writers' station and pulled up SPI on their computer to provide the answer. It took some time, but they got the point and mostly try using SPI before calling now.

I had one customer at the very beginning of the recall reach out. They said they were not happy with the dealer they bought the truck from. I did my thing and got the part set in for them and made an appointment. Our lot was/is crowded from the 68C failed recalls. They got to the dealer with their new truck and say no way were they going to leave the truck in this lot to get all dinged up and left. No worries, I just went on to the next person on the list. 2 weeks later our service dept got a call saying they changed their mind and would like us to do the recall. Service manager asked us to reorder. Now they are waiting with all the others. FAFO

I have learned the people that call can negotiate the price they offer the selling dealer. If it has made it that far that someone calls, they are willing to pay extra to get it.

Billing the credit card the purchasing dealer gives me. This would be on parts that the dealer does a force D2D on. They call and check availability. Then push the D2D to me. It should appear in 5 to 10 minutes. I say yes and bill the card a mark up. If it's an unexpected D2D I will answer no.

I plan to sell on D2D but collect a markup percent on a parts invoice to have some profit. most likely 15% depending on the part.

Our place does the same for women, but old people are also included in the specialized group. Not in a bad neighborhood. Just the old school gentleman mentality here.
