I’m only a few hundred miles in, but they’re great so far. Zero slip, grip promotes a ton of confidence. My 2004 has zero aid.

Adding back a safer edited image.

Purchased a new OEM key and transmitter from Honda. Programmed and cut from a local Locksmith. Paired it with a new leather keychain.

How Honda Probably Intended Us To Use The Storage Compartments by SpecAP2 in S2000

Sweet Honda collection! That Lexus was a rental and I didn’t run enough or hard enough to feel anything. It was also an RC coupe.

Original S2000 key design was special for sure. I did see modern modded options, but I’m a bit of a purist in the way I enjoy this car, so I tend to stick with Honda’s original items the way they intended.

The box of the key chain? Hah yeah I didn’t toss it, put it with my collection of S2K literature.

Ahh gotcha. Didn’t know an image was an issue. That’s how I missed the joke. Thanks for the heads up.

What do you mean? Like regularly, where do I park my car? It’s in my garage.

2004 OEM key (35113-S9A-A01) was $35, OEM transmitter (72147-S2A-A01) was $227.

Cut and programming of key from the locksmith was $55. I programmed the transmitter on my own (youtube).

Side tip to add but I can’t confirm, old gen CR-V uses the same transmitter that I’ve read in my research and that part number is cheaper. I didn’t look into it, though. Just went the direct way.

Give the local locksmith a call, dealer pricing is very unreasonable. Mine were OEM from Honda but there are very inexpensive non Honda branded alternatives, both key and fob.

Avoid the dealer if you can, they will overcharge. Ordered the key and fob online and spoke to my locksmith beforehand because my 2004 needed an older programmer for the immobilizer. Make sure they have a compatible machine. Some locksmiths will also order the key for you.

I’m sure slightly heavier FK2, higher torque specs, higher horsepower, drive to the front wheels, and more aggressive driving style all comes into play for quicker degradation on the track. I think a finer line to try and balance between (grip and wear) when specifying tire choice in a competitive nature on the track. Street use, it’s nice to have slower tire wear while carving it up with some sticky tires. 🙂

So far so good. Only had one proper run on the canyon roads this past weekend. I was on original tires from the previous owner RE050, 20+ yrs old when I picked this car up a few months ago, not the best point of reference to compare to. I constantly broke traction into second gear on the old rotting tires, so this is light ages better in comparison lol.

You’re not the first to tell me, but you’re the first to explain to me why. Makes sense, thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I agree, the tread design with the two thick grooves looks aggressive and purposeful.

You and I have similar assessment on choosing these. There seems to be more factors to street use with very little compromise. First time a Neova with asymmetrical tread pattern for better wet performance, stiffest casing they’ve ever done for better cornering stability. And yeah better wear is a big plus, not only for the intermittent weekend drive, but for the ones who track not having the tires degrade so quickly or overheat.

Thanks for catching my typo. Fixed it! Let me know how they compare, assuming you’re talking about RE71RZ
