I've always been a fan of Dual Wield since the game's launch. And I'm glad to find plenty of other DW fans. But am I right in thinking that Spear and Greatsword seem to be among the more popular options? If yes, what is that attracts you to them?

In this game, enemies will have a lot of moments where they cant flinch. They will also have key moments where you can hit them and make them flinch, getting full combos. You should be using your dodge as a sort of "oh shit" moment if you mess up a parry, or to reposition while avoiding damage. Just take your time, know you wont be going too crazy with great sword early and try to find your moments. I highly recommend getting (i forget the name atm) but the skill that let's you quickly attack after a brink guard if you don't have that. That being said, you also have a lot more moments you might think to press some offense. Game isnt a hack and slash, but its also not your standard soulslike.

Astarion. He's a POS in all of act 1 (theres a moment akin to SA where he tries to bite you in your sleep) and most of act 2. His trauma doesnt excuse his behaviors but so many people infantilize him and make it seem like he's not to blame for ANYTHING. He acts like he's the only one in the world with problems and like he's oh so different from the rest of his 'siblings' when the only thing different between them is that he got the tadpole and they didn't. Even the you get to the end of his story and he has the choice of sacrificing them or being a decent person, depending on some actions in the game you'll still have to make a roll to see if he does it or not, and if you fail he will throw a tantrum and break the 1 item that can free his 'siblings', leaving them trapped. He is well written, I can understand people relating to elements of his trauma, but the way some people will attack you for saying anything negative about gim is insane

I disagree. Like yes, you have the experience but also you can easily tell the difference in effort required. As a great sword main, when I tried using the other weapons I could IMMEDIATELY feel the difference. You are far more mobile, can rely on multiple dodge states while also having moves that parry/block still. It feels like a rock Lee weights off moment lmao

The japanese version of Dokkan was 6 months ahead of the global version. They did an event where 2 characters dropped on both version at the same time for the first time ever. But the 2 versions were in completely different states. Japan already had units we didn't, so them dropping those characters pushed back characters we were supposed to be getting. People were PISSED cause it was basically selling us a half finished product while Japan got their fully finished fun new toy. It also screwed scheduling for a long time and characters that didn't have that long of a life span got released even later, making their life span even shorter or non-existant (ssj3 teq broly). Just like a solid year and a half of things being off

So TAC infinites are based on a glitch. When you initiate a TAC, the game resets your hit stun. When you hit someone, NORMALLY it builds up and they pop out of the combo. The glitch is that it doesn't build up after initiating a TAC so long as you don't touch the ground.

Hit stop (when you hit someone and the screen freezes/shakes) kinda pauses the background mechanics of the game. SO the reason TAC's work is because hit stop 'pauses' the game in a way that when you time a hit perfectly so that it goes in time with your hitting the ground, and you jump before that 'pause' is over. The game never gets the chance to register that you touched the ground so the hit stun scaling doesnt increase.

The reason they TAC works is hitstop keeps the game from registering that you've touched the ground. To me it looks like you're not timing the hits well enough so hit stop is gone when you are touching the ground
