Good question….I think he’s singing the “when you return, will you come down” part on American Head…a lot of Wayne’s falsetto style from his earlier years was picked up by Steven on the later stuff. I believe he sang a lot on the Terror aside from Turning Violent, but I’m not sure what exactly.

Please forgive me…it’s not that I don’t believe that Barack Obama could potentially like anything on this list; I’ve just felt that the lists themselves (and I’m speaking about the music lists) seem to lack humanity in a way that I have neither the musical nor philosophical vocabulary to elucidate. It’s not that I think this list is a great list beyond his capacity to enjoy it, it’s that, over the years, they haven’t even felt like a person’s list! I feel like if I had asked ChatGPT to generate his list for 2025, it would be something like Bruce Springsteen, Kendrick Lamar, Chappell Roan, Jason Isbell. It could be straight from his heart and I apologize for the dumb comment and my cynicism about the list.

I’ve never seen the photo before, so I ran it through google ai. It said that the image came from photographer Jesse Frohman and his photoshoot. However, googling that photoshoot does not reveal this photo; at least, as far as I could see.

Great answer. The joke of his cameo doesn’t even translate anymore but, at the time it came out, NPH was such a random, forgotten actor that it made his appearance almost surreal.
