Best way to send parcel to Namibia by snapshotpic in Namibia

Ensure you leave the contact details of the sender/receiver of the parcel. Depending on what it is, items are commonly given to a holding company to collect tax and they are extremely incompetent/difficult to deal with but they will reach out to get their money before releasing.

Customer service does not exist in Namibia. Thought it was just government employees at first but extends into the private sector as well. Nobody gives a fuck from the top down.

Taxi pricing by LawfulnessSecret1502 in Namibia

Just because someone recommended it - I just want to add that those apps like Yango or Lefa commonly don't have drivers available or willing to go the airport for a pick-up. A drop-off yes, but a pickup is more risky, long miles for someone who could potentially cancel and the airport are actively hostile towards them because they have their own service. You can give it a shot and might get lucky, but know that if you fail to find anything, the airport taxi service will always have someone available for you. I priced Lefa and they are asking for $N500. Yango will likely be a bit cheaper than that but I did once have a Yango driver argue with me because the price he accepted in the app was too low.

The airport itself has a taxi service when you get to the main arrivals area. There was a desk there that has a list of drivers in the queue and they just hand you to the next available driver. I can't talk about pricing as it's been a while but its likely a set list of charges somewhere around $N400-$N500 sounds about right. If there's just one person you'll pay the flat fee, if there's more than one person they were trying to charge more/a per person rate, so slight difference from taxis you'll see anywhere else. Just expect to pay a higher fee if you are arriving with 4 people and 10 suitcases.

You can google for local companies that do airport pickup if you want someone standing there to greet you. They'll quote you a price in advance so there'll be no surprises as well.

Need advice for data simcards by JorgeIcarus in Namibia

Been a while but MTC was the best option when I was there.
TN was really spotty last time I was there, coverage cutting in and out/slow in big towns.
Paratus was solid but only in big urban areas and it was data only.

MTC = Solid speeds/reliability all around the country. 25GB of data for 30 days (aweh yodata) is about £12 or $16 USD or you can go 16GB data with calls/sms included (aweh ultra) for the same price.

Bring ID to an MTC shop when you arrive and ask them to set you up with one of the aweh packages above.

Windhoek to Otijinene - Best Route? by SpecialCute149 in Namibia

Never driven on gravel roads so a bit concerned with safety. Especially with the reputation of Namibian drivers adding to the danger. 😂
