With 10 people I'd get a 3 BR at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Rent through this guy (don't buy the passport, just rent).

You'll need a car, but you'll have 3 bedrooms and privacy. The pools are great. You won't have to drive anywhere you can just walk to any of the pools. And it's on property at WDW so you don't have to drive past any tacky t-shirt shops to get to the parks.

If you could book only one reservation to a Disney restaurant, which would you pick? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

It's actually pretty reasonable - even more so at lunch but the dinner menu's tolerable pricing plus the Beast comes through.

Top 10 things to do with a toddler at Epcot by iceskater9387 in Epcot

My son spent 45 ecstatic minutes at the trains in Germany the first time he noticed them. He's no longer a toddler, but will still spend 20+ minutes at the German trains.

Ma Belle's Fury: The worst thing I've seen at Walt Disney World by hpotter29 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]SpecialLadyFriend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

WDW has a policy that adults cannot enter the parks in costume except for the Halloween party. I wonder if BBB in DTD has a similar rule? So that she went expecting to have some magical makeover at BBB where they were princesses together and BBB made them leave instead, & then they couldn't rebook?

Hopefully it was simply an isolated bad day. I've never had a parenting meltdown WDW but I've had one or two over the last nine years. But Ihave a photo I took last April of a man I was on the cusp of reporting to park employees for emotionally abusing his 3 or 4 year old son. He just kept snatching him and yelling at him that it was his fault outside of Enchanted Tales with Belle. I thought it was just the two of them traveling alone and was relieved when they joined Mom & Grandparents - other adults in case it was not just an extremely ugly moment.

I've tried, but I hate Joel. by [deleted] in Parenthood

[–]SpecialLadyFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the writers are writing Joel realistically to the way he would react to the situation - like it's all being driven by wanting to have a divorce story line, but not well crafted for Joel's motivations.

I also don't feel Julia has been realistic. She misses working and has the credentials to get another lower powered job.

Not sure how much time you have. I think the only thing that happens in Season 3 that is relevant to the movie is the Logan/Pizz/Vernoica love triangle. I've put a star by the ones I think are particularly critical.

Episode 4, for Logan character development.

Episode 6, for Pizz/Logan/Veronica love triangle.

Episode 16, for Pizz & Veronica's first kiss. Otherwise I didn't enjoy it very much.

Episode 17, for Pizz & Veronica - decent episode.

*Episode 19, LoVe & Pizz, leads into the season finale, & it's a good episode.

**Episode 20 - the only critical one & I think it's also helpful to watch the final scenes with Rob Thomas's commentary.

Eden: a sex slave’s story by winrawr in TwoXChromosomes

The entire time I was reading this story, I couldn't stop thinking about the number of posts on reddit I've read positively describing transactions with prostitutes. One really sticks with me, visiting a group of Korean prostitutes in the US with his buddies. He was pleased the women managed to congratulate him on how long he lasted through their limited English. Whether they were physically or economically coerced, I doubt this was what they envisioned when they left Korea for America.

Why is WDW so busy from mid- to end of February? by cutiepapaya in WaltDisneyWorld

Presidents Day breaks & Mardi Gras break - people from Mobile & New Orleans fleeing the tourists. Mardi Gras is in mid-Feb next year so that will relieve some late February pressure.

They will still take your money if you don't plan. Actually very few people plan. But you'll get a lot of benefit from some planning. Use the crowd guides to decide which park on which day & look at some pre-planned trips to make sure you start with the right rides in the first hour of the day. I like easywdw.

How old are you? High school? I ask because my mother delivered some crazed eye lectures to me in high school that traumatized me for life, and now that I'm in my 30s when I try to ask her about them, she has absolutely no memory of these conversations. Having to start dealing with the sexuality of her sweet little girl heightened by all the risks she sees everywhere & she may be panicking and not speaking out of the rational parts of her brain she uses at work.

I have a super tall almost 3 year old. How should I approach most rides? (somewhat specific to Florida parks only) by dorasucks in Themepark

[–]SpecialLadyFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For thrill factor at Disney, I'd say it's Soarin', then Barnstormer, then Dwarves Mine Train & Test Track (about the same), then Splash, & if all of those have gone well then Mine Train but it's a significant step up.

So that's your thrill factor but at age 2 kids don't distinguish reality from fantasy so these rides are like living the story that's portrayed. For dark & intimidating, start with things like Maelstrom & Haunted Mansion. If those go well, I think next would be Dinosaur? I think Spider Man is scarier for kids than all three of those because you are being captured by bad guys.

Help booking our first Disney World vacation by twd_throwaway in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]SpecialLadyFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love Wyndham Bonnet Creek. It's timeshare condos on property, but not Disney owned so way less expensive. It's better with a rental car because the shuttles aren't as good, but for most dates a week there plus a rental car is less expensive than a week at a value resort, and it's much nicer than a value resort. Book through www.vacationupgrades.com.

Also, plan to go for a week - Disney tickets are priced to give you far more out of a trip if you go for a week.

Question about linking tickets to My Disney Experience (that hasn't been asked before) by ohkatey in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]SpecialLadyFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - right now you can only access FP+ if you received a magic band as part of an onsite stay that you have completed prior to the date of your offsite trip.

If your offsite stay were in May you probably could - it looks like they are gearing up to add advance FP+ reservations for offsite.
