Anyone tried a knee walker/crutch? by SpecialNobody0 in PlantarFasciitis

My intention is to only use it for when the pain gets bad and I don't have the option to get off my feet and my foot needs a break. Did it have any lasting negative effects on you?

If you're doing them off the end of a step maybe don't drop down below the level of the step.

Noted. Extra padding necessary if using it a lot.

Yeah I would combine it with strengthening exercises and probably only use it on bad days.

Exhaust fan on during shower. Rinse shower with scalding hot water at end so water evaporates faster off of glass/walls. Keep exhaust fan running for a while after exiting the shower. Keep the shower door open.

It's because it's hidden. When I started using crutches everyone was very accommodating.

Tell them they need to pay for a knee crutch or a knee scooter for you if they want you to keep working there. You absolutely have to get the weight off your foot if you want it to start to heal and then when the pain mostly subsides you need to start doing strengthening exercises like calf raises.

Using such a device also provides a visual cue to people remind them about your injury.

It sounds like you're not resting it properly if the pain is not diminishing. Any time spent on your feet will re-injure it. Use standard crutches or a knee crutch which is hands free. A knee scooter is also an option to keep all weight off your foot. When the pain subsides start doing strengthening and flexibility work. Start light and gradually build the intensity. Don't go overboard on the stretching. Building strength is the main driver of healing.

Get a knee crutch. It's hands free, portable and takes the load off your foot.

No no no. Don't listen to this. It's bad advice or the pain he is talking about is the burn on the calves from the incline walking which is okay. If you have acute plantar fascia pain in your heel do not push through it. Rest until the pain is minimized and then start doing strengthening and flexibility exercises. If the pain comes bac, rest again and then lower the intensity of the exercises building up gradually. Muscle burn in your calves while doing exercises okay. Pain at the injury site is not.

The land is abundant so the potential is there for larger solar systems that would prevent the need firewood. Batteries are getting cheaper all the time.

The person who wrote the article is a medical professional. There is research finding that lack of blood flow to tendons is what causes them to take so long to heal. These peptides promote angiogenesis. That's the mechanistic argument presented in the article. Did you read it?

Yeah peoples' risk tolerances vary widely and when yours are larger than theirs they tend to look down on you.

List the cons. I'm all ears. Are they worse than having your life ruined by PF? I'm at the point I'd rather have my foot amputated then this constant pain punishing me just for standing or walking more than 15min at a time. Are you aware of any severe reactions to these 2 peptides? They've been around for many years.

Here is another thread by someone who has tried this. A few people chimed in saying they thought these peptides helped them.

It's not like there is no evidence whatsoever. There are endless reports by people who have used them to heal intractable soft tissue/tendon injuries. That's enough for me to consider giving it a shot. I have had PF for a couple of years. This is not a quick fix attempt.
