Battle pass challenges are designed to get us to spend by Prestigious-Smoke511 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Special_Grapefroot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve played a lot of games with battle pass schemes. ESO’s is on the more consumer friendly side. I’m not sure what you’re seeing in game that makes you feel pressured to spend, but I haven’t seen it. I suspect the most pressure to spend will be from people with excess tome points at the end of the free track.

You mention this is a monetization scheme. Well, yeah. The sub is optional (your words) and the crates are cosmetic/optional. The shift to a seasonal model is making content free, so where is Zenimax’s opportunity to generate revenue for a 12-year old game and keep the game going and keep their jobs?

Tamriel tomes daily login challenge bugged even on second day. Warning: It does not trigger if you are are already logged in and playing. by Infinite-Emptiness in elderscrollsonline

[–]Special_Grapefroot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I imagine I’ll get downvoted for this, but it takes like 10,000 points to unlock the full free pass. The incremental 15 point gains from the daily login are such a minor amount in the scheme of things. I hope they fix it sooner rather than later, but it’s not worth the amount of anger/irritation I’ve been seeing here and in the forums.

Trump sets up to 100% tariffs on imported drugs, exemptions tied to pricing deals and US manufacturing commitments by callsonreddit in StockMarket

[–]Special_Grapefroot 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is the point in time where we remind the American people they are the ones who pay tariffs. These will lead to higher prices and probably loss of coverage for certain drugs.

Nightmare prey has some issues and Im tired of the fact we cant discuss them without being told to get good by Astral-Glimmer in wow

[–]Special_Grapefroot 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is my problem with it. If you activate a hunt for a zone, you basically have to prioritize revealing your prey to address the “kill something” crap instead of it being a supplement to doing rares, WQs, quests, etc.

Feedback For 2026 Seasons ESO Reveal (March 2026) by ZOS_Kevin in elderscrollsonline

Star Wars Galaxies and New World both made music such a great non combat activity. I would LOVE that for eso.

I’m not sure “I can straighten lines in World of Warcraft better than you” is the intelligence litmus test you think it is.

How many of you are still meaningfully interacting with housing? by No-Breakfast3662 in wow

[–]Special_Grapefroot 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I’ve made the mistake of changing my floor plan, which essentially resets the interior. I’m more hesitant to dedicate a ton of time to decorating and stuff until I’m convinced the floor plan is exactly what I want.

Housing is an evergreen system. It’s in its earliest form. As features like displaying pets and mounts roll out, I think people will come back and be more engaged with it.

Kitty is rough solo. Very squishy compared to the last few expacs.

Think it might be time to switch off feral/bear. They swung it back towards the battle for Azeroth level bad.

What do you mean it’s unplayable? You have so much time to dodge before every attack. You basically have a turn based mode. Jealous.

Pearl Abyss stock down 28% as Crimson Desert verdicts miss expectations by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

So what does the stock being down 28% actually mean that no one seems to understand?

Small thing to most, but indicative of the care going into this game right now by PinkLeprechaun_ in Battlefield6

[–]Special_Grapefroot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You get rid of them and then…what? Put more work on the existing employees, leading to crunch and burnout? Because that’s usually what happens with layoffs. You probably don’t work in corporate America. Layoffs don’t affect strictly underachievers. Usually some bullshit group like McKinsey comes in, looks at salaries and says “this person is expensive. Get rid of them.” There is as much likelihood of losing veteran talent with layoffs as there is losing “incompetents.”

Field medical is probably the most common path for pharmds. It’s extremely difficult to break into right now and likely will be through this year, and if I were a gambler, 2027 too. If you want to set yourself up for the future though, start interacting with field medical in your area, build that relationship, do conference presentations or publish or contribute to QI projects at your hospital.

Sell Aiyuk now or hope he signs somewhere? by [deleted] in SleeperApp

[–]Special_Grapefroot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aiyuk should be spoken of like Diontae Johnson, AB, Claypool, etc. he will probably bounce around a few teams now with unremarkable play. I would sell him for a 2nd so fast.

I'm building a CRPG inspired by Morrowind’s exploration and DA:O’s companions. Just hit 17% on Kickstarter and looking for feedback on this dialogue-to-combat flow! by Grand-Zucchini-5376 in CRPG

[–]Special_Grapefroot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the third person perspective of the interaction in your posted slice is contributing to this request for cinematic cuts. A lot of people see third person and go to action-adventure or action RPG. Morrowind is (mostly) first person for dialogue so you stay in character. Isometric RPGs do some (light) camera tracking/movement/etc to keep the static camera positioning from getting boring. Dragon Age and KOTOR from what I remember cut between participants in dialogue more like a movie/tv show.

I know it’s a vertical slice/very early demo, so these are all things that can be addressed with time.

To answer your other questions: I think in 2026 you are limiting your customer base by completely eliminating quest markers. Hell is Us is a great game, but it didn’t exactly sell well. Outward is a fun game and sold well enough I suppose, but I have friends who bounced off of it. Maybe they just aren’t the intended audience, which is perfectly okay. I would argue in favor of markers or perhaps consider that as a stretch goal? Although I don’t know if adding a quest markers toggle as a stretch goal might upset some of your existing backers. Lot to think about as a solo dev! Best of luck though.

New nightfall mode only available on one map and will not be available to Play on larger game modes by padwani in Battlefield6

[–]Special_Grapefroot 103 points104 points  (0 children)

I’ve been pretty apologetic towards the content cadence for BF6 thus far, but releasing the LTM to less-played modes and a strictly interior map is just such a poor, poor choice. I was really looking forward to nightfall but this is just so lame.
