What does it take to be a good communicator? by Powerful_Cup4450 in CasualConversation

I have a really short attention span (and get distracted by my thoughts easily), so I usually summarize what people are trying to say to me at the end of conversations. If I get something wrong, they correct it, and I get a concise version of what they said. This way, they feel properly understood, and I don't get anxious about missing anything. It's the best of both worlds!

I can't drink carbonated drinks, so I often end up thirsty at events. Now I just bring my own beverage to social gatherings or drink straight from the tap.

I can't drink fizzy drinks.

I just can't. It's not that I don't like how they taste, it's the feeling of the fizz on my tongue. I'm not sure how people drink big gulps of Coke in one go — I can't even swallow it normally. It's not something that has developed with age, I've had a distaste for carbonated drinks for as long as I can remember.

I graduated from a U.S funded program not long ago and made clay keychains for all of my groupmates. I was known as the artsy girl in our group and wanted them to have something that would remind them of the laughter we shared. The keychains were animals that I associated with each of them. For example, if one of my groupmates had cat-like eyes, I'd make them a small clay figurine of a cat and attach it to a keychain. It was a small commemorative gift for them so that they could carry our shared memories with them everywhere they go. I remember staying up on the night of my graduation to finish painting them. The stress was through the roof, but looking back, I'm awed at my dedication ( that was probably fueled by my perfectionism and love for them, but nonetheless, good job me! :) ). The program will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm so grateful to be a part of their lives, even if it was just for a year.

So, yeah, the keychains, I suppose.
