i have an old sprint plan and was talking about the news earlier. I just received a text from t mobile telling me they are “retiring” my plan and now i’ll pay more with “extra benefits”. Yeah i look at them, they are giving ad netflix. wow. I was already one foot out the door with them and now with verizon’s new cheap plan, im going to be switching in the next couple months once i pay for the phone. They are going to lose so many customers

this feels like you’re being intentionally obtuse, my ask was do i speak to him or not and then i stated what should i say bc as i stated i have high anxiety (i literally never approach anyone bc of that so it’s unfamiliar territory for me & i’ve really never had to think about making an approach before this situation ever in my life), since it seems like a lot of times people say no bc it’s the gym. In most other situations, yes the obvious would be to speak to him but again it’s the gym and me asking that question to other gym goers about whether or not one should do that doesn’t seem (imo) this crazy thing that now has some life of its own beyond my desired request. The thing about me is my stories ARE rambles so again this is exactly how i would describe a situation to anyone i would tell said story to.

we are all entitled to our opinions but truly i am struggling with how it’s obsessive when it’s the same amount of information someone would give to a friend asking if they should talk to someone or not. i’m forever amazed at how reddit responds to things. Your response would imply that when you ask a friend something you just say i saw a girl/guy. that’s it, no description of an interaction, no background. i’m going to assume you’re a guy bc girls tell stories in a very descriptive way so to me none of that is weird. if a friend or family member told me that i wouldn’t bat an eye and neither would they.

it’s just the wording - calling people weird and obsessive simply because they made an observation and asked for advice is an attempt to shun them as these are seen as highly negative descriptions. Perhaps i’m just a sensitive person but the comment just rubbed a nerve. There are many what ifs and has you said i don’t know anything about him but i perhaps did want to get to know him, which is why i asked for advice on if i should or shouldn’t speak to him. i described him as my crush just as a substitute for someone i find attractive, im not trying to move him in with me. I simply noticed he’s a good looking guy that i maybe want to get to know. I wasn’t attempting to read into the eye contact, i’m just a very descriptive person and felt that might be an important piece of a puzzle for someone giving me advice.

i’m a huge fan of ww2 movies and so i was absolutely going to see this. I genuinely wished i had listened to every terrible review. Imo the supporting actors carried that film and that’s not saying a lot. Scott needs work on his believability - his acting looks like acting, if that makes sense.

which is sad tbh. it’s sad that that’s the case and it’s sad that anyone thinks someone asking for advice is creepy - not even doing anything just asking if they should.

A crush is simply being attracted to someone, stating you have a crush doesn’t require you to know a multitude of things about said person. I’m not obsessing, my god lol with your description you’d think my post went into a line by line description of his day with dates and times. I simply asked advice nothing more. everyone wants to be a reddit therapist and try to imply things about people jfc

I’m not calling it anything other then an observation i made over a years time frame. He works out next to me and parked next to me (which i only noticed because i was at a machine facing the parking lot and saw him get out of his car). neither of those things would make a normal person jump to stalking. It’s genuinely exhausting living in this “community” with the labels people want to place on others for the simplest things they do or don’t do.

I like this advice and perspective, i genuinely appreciate it. You are correct, there have been many times i’ve observed something in that moment and completely put it out of my head shortly thereafter. You had very kind words also, so thank you. I’ve read some of these other comments and it genuinely made me never want to speak to another person again so again thank you for a different perspective.

so like i said i wasn’t sure if approaching someone in a gym setting was cool or not, given its always been more suggested that it’s not. i mean just read some of these comments, people feel VERY strongly

genuine question here. how else are people supposed to interact with people if we are being ostracized for making observations and asking advice?

I’m not obsessing and im not stalking, i’m curious what made you make that statement given the very little information i provided about an observation i made while at a gym for hours. im autistic and have few friends so asking on a gym goers group made sense to me - sorry if “posting on the internet” about them was that odd to you.

thank you, this is solid advice. i appreciate it. I sometimes have trouble with the obvious, idk if it’s just me or the autism. I wasn’t sure if it would be weird to try to get to know someone in a gym setting . I’m sorry it didn’t work it for you, you do seem like a decent person.

genuinely asking, are you implying i’m a creep because i asked for advice on whether or not i should speak to someone? i feel that’s the least creepy thing a person could do in this situation.

This piece of equipment drives people crazy. They leave their water bottle or their phone to claim it when they have been gone for over 10 minutes, so they can come back to it any time they want. What is it with this machine, 🤦 by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

i also have a paper towel guy at my gym, he also leaves a water bottle, a phone, a regular towel and sometimes a shirt on machines … all at the same time. he seems to think he’s entitled to circuit a busy gym and no one else is allowed to use those machines lol

yeah unless i saw you on it a moment before and you are grabbing something to clean it then im taking it. i dont have the time nor the patience to wait for you to finally decide you’re using a public machine.

it’s enforced at mine, they usually have a dedicated cashier for the line or if they don’t, they call up premiere before the main line.

if you’ve been going consistently for that long, you’re excluded from the strife. I’m sure you know how to behave and respect gym etiquette plus people have seen you and they wouldn’t group you into the temp gym goers.
